i thought he'd be at peace now after the EG signing, I guess he's stressed about a potential sign a trade. |

It’s hard to do a voice on an internet chat site, but I thought it was pretty clever, the comparison between the force and the flow was especially brilliant - if I do say so myself |

The bonus will be the meltdown here if JB stands pat.
- VanHockeyGuy
i say we set the rules of the drinking game right now for the tdl and JB's post deadline presser:
1) take a sip every time he says "like" (sip only b/c who wants to pass out by 1pm?).
2) take a sip every time he says "uuuuuhhhhh"
3) take a gulp every time he say "you know"
4) finish your drink every time he says "there weren't really a lot of calls."
5) shotgun your drink if they move at least 1 player
6) 2 shots per second rounder
7) down the bottle if they get a first round pick.
either way, liquor (mixed with anger and disappointment) can only be good for vancouver hockey fans! |

its inconceivable that he would stand pat with Vanek. Its not often you get a more perfect fit to move a player, on that good of a contract, having that good of a year, being on a bottom 5 team, compared to the rest of the UFA market. Run on sentences are my favorite. - Codes1087

You are twenty years too young for that, in the ‘70/‘80 when it was going on, it’s what the cool kids did. And please, you are the very definition of a Nerd, stats guy, reading paywall websites showing shot attempts rated by danger levels.
My best D&D character was a high level Cleric, with a gnarly old wooden club and a penchance for getting drunk on mead and beating up halflings. |

You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders - the most famous of which is never get involved in a land war in Asia - but only slightly less well-known is this: Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!

What was the name of the Little D we got out of the KHL that we had to give a pick to Edmonton for? I think he is probably better than Jarsey... |

I think they are trying to get max value from cheap contract players given how much of a mess their payroll is currently. |

Vanek and Nash being the same would be a fun argument, not sure I would lean towards Vanek over Nash, but that's just my opinion.
I would hold on to all my UFA/RFA's till deadline day. That includes Granlund, Baertschi, Stecher, Pouliot, Vanek, etc. I would take calls on all of them, gauge the market and interest. I am not one for the theatrics of waiting till a few minutes before its over before making a deal, but drive up the value by waiting till the last day. - Codes1087
Don't mind the strategy but it might not be the best. Waiting til the last minute may do more harm than good. Other GMs might go get someone else similar for maybe cheaper. Snooze you lose. |
