JB want's him to "teach" BB, mentor him. His agent may give him a discount so Vanek doesn't go to UFA.

Yup. People wanted value for them, it wasnt there. Calgary got basically a mid second for russell and two scrubs.

In the end if JB has no plan on keeping them. You take what you can get. If it came down to it. Id ask a 4th and 6th for Vanek. Anything past round 3 is a shot in the dark. Might as while maximise.

I think this is a damned if you do damned if you don't. No matter what happens with Vanek it won't be the right call. I can't see us getting a 2nd or 3rd so fans won't be happy with less. If we keep him lots of people will be like we should have gotten anything for him.
