Vancouver media last night ripping Gudbrandson for being on for three goals.

No mention of the Teflon Twins whose lazy asses caused two those lazy penalties.

No mention of the two soft goals let in by Neilsson

No mention that he was playing 5 against 4

No mention of the other three players on the ice

It all came down to Gudbrandsons contract .

Blame has to be placed somewhere. I blame the Sedins, JB, TL, all the injuries, goldy for not getting a hat-trick every game. Markstrom for twerking.

Please note the high level of sarcasm in this post.

I called it before the game started. Each Sedin would take a lazy hooking penalty. They just can’t keep up anymore. Archie can barely skate yet I haven’t seen him hooking players or holding onto players jerseys 😡

To be fair, if Gydbranson was only making $3,500,000 those goals wouldn’t have been scored

Archie has a much longer stride.

I feel as if more people are coming around to not re-signing the Sedins. The game is just too quick for them. Illustrious careers. Sad they didnt get another chance to win it but it happens. Lots of great players had to leave to win. They chose not too.

From an agent on the rental market ahead of the trading deadline : "Fewer gm's are telling me that they are doing rentals, they want to do hockey trade's. " That's interesting with the #Canucks trying to move Thomas Vanek.

It took GMs long enough to catch on

Why can't they try to win with someone else? We won't be there for years . If winning is important go somewhere else

Vanek is a perfect piece for cup contending teams though. Many of which are tight against the cap, and don't want to commit long term or $ for a good playoff run. I totally get what Rick is saying, but there will always be a market for Rentals in the NHL IMO

I’ve been saying this for two years and no one agrees. A good team probably wouldn’t want them. They aren’t getting ozone starts over Crosby or Mcdavid or Matthews etc

his production relative to his AAV is ridiculous. His past playoff experience will drive down his price a little, but not enough for teams to not kick tires on.

So basically Benning is likely to (frank) up this years TDL due to pride...

this is the farthest from pom poms. I am looking at it strictly from a GM perspective. If you want to add depth for a long playoff run, who do you look at, a scoring winger on a longer contract with high $, or a rental UFA, that is cheap in both AAV and would be cheap to acquire...

the funny thing is that Vanek is the top point scorer among ALL trade bait list/rental players, other than Karlsson, but the odds of him moving are slim.

I really don't see whats so horrible with his past playoff numbers...
the last time he made it - YES, 0 goals in 10 games
but before that
5 goals in 17 games

If Gaudette and EP impress in camp the retirement party should be thrown for them Sedins regardless of contract extension.

so get a 4th? get anything for him at this point. Vanek has absolutely no reason to be a Canuck after the TDL, and the Canucks have absolutely no reason for him after the TDL. It benefits the club, and player, to move him. If they want to talk in the summer about another year, so be it, but it doesn't make sense to keep him out of good will for an extension. Take the best offer Benning
