1. Don’t believe Boston’s addition of Nick Holden prevents them from adding another current Rangers defender. Question is whether or not the Bruins are willing to take the plunge.
Can’t pin it down, but there also appears to be Western Conference interest in Ryan McDonagh.
2. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Jason Mackey reported on Michael Grabner as the Penguins’ target, which makes a lot of sense as he fits their speedy winger profile.
Mackey wondered if the Rangers would refuse to trade with the Penguins but I don’t think that’s the case. If Daniel Sprong was available, why wouldn’t someone consider it? - airjan23
Trading him to Pittsburgh would likely assure he’s a free agent in July
I'm confused, you think a 2nd is good for Grabs? - mdw7413
I think maybe he’s saying, and I know it’s crazy, probably not even worth mentioning, but there IS a chance, just a small one, that we are biased in our appraisals.
Other teams could be looking at 7 of those goals being empty netter’s and feel they can get away with it.

I'm saying Gorton can only get what is being offered, so getting a 2nd round pick and another "good" prospect isn't the end of the world. He can be resigned in the off-season if that's what he wants. Might as well get what can be gotten

Yeah but if its a garbage prospect and a real late 2nd, that will (frank)ing suck.

I just can't imagine a guy who has 25 goals, and yes 7 of them are empty netters, but with playoff games being so close I would think its more important, can move up and down the line up, play every single situation and is only worth a 2nd and a prospect. I just think it better be a damn good prospect because really its more like a 3rd.

The fact that 11-12 teams want Grabner, I think at least one will give the Rangers something that makes us go

The scenario I envision is Gorts telling Grabs that the season is over and he's trying to rebuild the team through trades, tells him he's on the block or has been traded and gets a handshake deal hoping he re-signs during the off season.
