Really don't think anyone would take Seabs at this point , not with that contract . Hawks don't have a lot sweetner they could add to make it happen or if Tampa has a really bad contact they want to send back.
Murphy has been so so 4 million Is too much for 5th or 6th defenceman. Some here think he can move to a top 4 spot. - HamiltonHawk
just speculating that yzerman may not be a afraid of the seabrook deal. i'd guess $2M retained and a mimimal return from tampa. might be a few others like tallon or chiarelli that would take the deal.
murphy - was curious if he could be a target for the leafs. doesn't really sound like it.

Something may be cooking with the Hawks and Caps. Stay tuned. Not necessarily imminent, but could be something being discussed. |

Outstanding - 6628
Likely led by/pushed by the best American players who just watched their likely best hope for a medal at the Olympics year go up in smoke b/c of the NHL decision. Many of the best have never had a chance to play for their country on that stage. |

I'm not sure what to think about the olympics. In a rare moment of support for Bettman, if there is not going to be reasonable insurance for players then they aren't going. And if you think the NHL is f'd up how about the olympic committee. But on the other hand, it is one place to watch the some of the best hockey players all at once. As fans, we can sit here and have our opinions. But it's my understanding that Tavares was injured during the last olympic tourney, so ask the Islanders what they think.
Bettman represents the owners in the NHL, not the game itself, not the employees of the NHL, and certainly not the players. In this case he was doing his job for the owners, and to me it seems he did it well. When he does his job well most of the rest of us are going to call bullpoop on something or other. Just the way it is. |

Sorry, forgot something else. In my opinion it would be fair of the owners to say to the players something like "if you go to the olympics and get hurt you forfeit your salary until you can recover and play again". Then we'll see who is all in about going to play in the olympics. |

Agreed, but I guess I would buy their rationale re: injuries, insurance, etc. if they applied it consistently and didn't also push the World Cup of Hockey extravaganza (money grab) so hard. Our own Toews supposedly was permanently injured there. Personally, I'd rather have them representing their countries in a contest that has some meaning and one in which the sport could pull in new fans. |

Commodore, Eklund, your uncle's twitter, none of them are exactly soothsayers in predicting trades.
Eklund seriously hypothesizes every player getting trade except for one, then that player get's traded. Then he posts an update of how 'he heard rumblings of that player but it was just too unbelievable for X team'. Commodore isn't a source until he nails a trade as the first source.
Til then it's the usual suspects who have tangible trade rumors: McKenzie, Dregger, etc. |

no cap implication with buyout...but a new CBA may not grant buy outs...and once again i fully expect an acrimonious CBA negotiation probably a stoppage after next season... - bogiedoc
Havent read any further yet to see if anyone else responded to this. There ARE cap implications with a buyout of any contract |

He's the guy I think we all hope Hayden can be someday. - 6628
That would be just perfect...
I think Hayden just needs to bulk up a bit not to much so as he can skate and keep up with the currant trend in the NHL
EDIT: Tom Wilson is a BADA$$ would love to have him here. This Hawks team desperately needs someone like him. |

He's a good fighter, which I would be fine with Hayden being able to through some bombs, but I'd like Hayden to produce more than just hits and fights. |

JJ probably will suggest the Hawks are trying to move Debrincat (his favorite).

He's on this podcast with Sports Mockery (seriously?) suggesting that Hartman is getting the most interest, and is also a kid with an possible attitude issue preventing him from accepting his role on the Hawks.

I'm guessing no buy-out - the last negotiation including provisions for the cap to substantially go down in the second year of the contract - they had to have a buy-out or too many teams wouldn't be able to skate on game 1.
I'm also hoping that - with $650MM and 50 contracts at stake from the Seattle group - that both sides will realize how stupid a stoppage would be. |

Did somebody delete a twitter link? I think I saw it and read it or I'm drunk!
the reality is the only 3 untouchables for me and I say that with the premise that someone is not going to way over pay. Is CAT, NICK, KANE, when you factor in current return I would add SAAD and TEOWS because there value is so low. I would also say our D prospects Joki and Mitchell I would not move. Also HINO JURCO when you compare the value to what they might do in a full season. I think HINO can put up 20 on the 3rd line and JURCO could do 10 on the 4th. Which is much higher then there current value. of a 3rd and 6th. DUKE, MURPH, HART all have some value. HART coming off 19G last year and on pace for 13-14, DUKE we paid little for, and Murph because everybody wants Big D players at the deadline. |

Man I hate that sportsmockery is having JJ on, they are the Buzzfeed/TMZ/Sharp-banged-Keith's-wife crap of sports reporting. Sportsmockery really sums up their journalism. |

I agree would love to have the production as well. Having someone like Wilson that has skill (nice redirect goal Saturday night) but overall tough to play against is what this team needs. This Hawks team is soft like Baby Sh!t . |
