Yeah I don't mind snakes and spiders, as long as I can see them haha. Came across a 7ft one the other day while out for a round of golf, he wasnt overly happy that I'd disturbed his nap, and didn't want to help me find my ball either!

Disagree

I have posted several links on this subject.
Your analysis has little if any merit. Stats don't lie. The rest is just BS because you don't know what Panarin thinks. Saad is not now nor is it likely he will ever be anyway near as good as Panarin. Bowman spit on Saad a few years ago when Saad deserved to be paid and Bowman booted him off to Columbus. So what changed? CYA for the Toews mistake is what changed. But it backfired and Bowman broke up the highest scoring line in the NHL for nothing.

Savoy,

Sorry, but I can tell you the comments that Panarin made at the World Championships resonated within Hawk management last spring. They were already not happy with what he said about dating a black woman. Saying he was tired for the playoffs, but energized to play for Russia was the nail in his coffin here.

I PM'd JJ the night before the trade was made that they were looking to move him.

Nothing new. But I do know that Panarin's comments at the WC did not fall on deaf ears. Whether he meant it or not, some in the front office did not like it - and the person I spoke to alluded to Panarin being one of the "entitled" players in that locker room that you earlier described as a "country club".

They are definitely listening to offers, but my educated guess would be a 1st line LW and at least a top 4 dman would have to be coming back in any deal made for him.

So stats or not, team management was not happy with him, and were thrilled to get Saad back for him.

Believe what you want - it seems to be the great past time on this site......

Yes mainly the thought process of,"My $10.5mil center can't play with anyone except HOFers and All-Stars to create consistent offense on his line." Sound about right?

I don't understand how you can be a monster like Dahlstrom and not want to hit anyone.....smfh

It's because he is from Sweden.

Swedes are know for defensive positional play, not heavy hitting. For the most part, it's not in their DNA.

They will take a hit to make a play, just not deliver them.

As long as he will lay the body like Hammer from time to time, I'm ok with it. Hammer always was stick/positioning over big hits, but when he got mad he nailed some people. Hopefully Dahlstrom has that same edge he's been reliable enough thus far.

I think you are right but let him show us. I am more disappointed that Panic did not come around than the expected Duclair showing. I wonder if it is all on Panic for his dismal last half season on Chicago.

With Duclair it may be possible that he could work to make himself an NHL stalwart. For that to happen he has to fail and not let it be a blame game. He has to stand out in various ways, not all is based on natural ability alone. It didn't take Q long to see what he has in Duclair.

Says Q, I "du Clair" you sort of suck.

Well I guess U can't lose them all ,to bad . Even with Coach Q up behind the bench . Oh well they did their best ,Ott is just a bit worse

I have to agree I don't care what Panarin accomplishes in his career ,I am glad he's gone ..

Colliton in an interview said that Dahlstrom makes good decisions and makes good plays by being smart with his decisions. How that translates to the NHL level is actually on display now. How this plays out could make him.more valuable than the other hanger on third pair guys.

Get Real. He wouldn't be on the ice with Kane if he didn't play at least some defense. Try to understand what the standard is in the NHL for measuring scoring production. All this crap has been posted before. It's mostly hyperbole. It makes no sense. I've answered it all before and I am not done by a long shot.

Truth is not hyperbole. It’s OK, I can teach you about the meaning of words as well as hockey. Panarin was despised by management - completely self-centered and selfish. Management wanted him gone and he was - management was thrilled team got Saad AND Forsberg for a “sniper” who may not even get 20 goals without Kane. Not only did Panarin not play “some” defence he played and continues to play NO defence.

And Torts puts up with that same as Q did?! Once Columbus gets close to a deep playoff run, maybe Panarin gets dealt. Maybe depends upon if there is a dynamic center combo with Panarin the wi g. The wing who sits in third when the Blue Jackets are ahead. Maybe.

I seriously thought it was.

Nah mate, --- that is a really disturbing tune about a sheep rustling hobo that boils up a tea, and decides to drown himself in a pond (ok technically a billabong- but I am translating)... to avoid the fuzz come to bust him for nabbing someone else's sheep.

Apparently this hobo is a jolly one ...

It really oughta be TNT by Akka Dakka ... they play it often enough (or Long Way to the Top)... play that one enough too... (seriously... )

Really? Ok - I seen that -now when does the hockey lesson come, because the above comes from a well fertilized field.

1) Never heard the self-centered part ... was it that he only agreed to be featured in 5 of those stupid soup and sandwich parts instead of 6? Face it - they milked that kid to the hilt ... -next...
2) Seriously Forsberg is better than Glass ... that's basically it. Don't act like he is the second coming of Ken Dryden, because he isn't and won't be. He isn't really all that good even for a backup.
3) Kane may not even get his PPG... what with all the doesn't matter who he plays with -- seems like he really wanted to play with Panarin last season -since he wasn't able to do it that well with Toews --- ironically Hossa did pretty well on that line.
4) Really? Until they put Kane back on that line he was leading the team in plus/minus ... I think he ended up finishing 2nd or 3rd ... and was pretty good back checking -hell he was about the only player that actually did do that too... you cannot do that without playing defense.

He seemed popular enough on the team -and I doubt a me first guy gets that treatment...

I mean I get why it was that you want to move a guy like that -all it takes is to look back at what happened to NJ with Kovalchuk and that alone should give anyone pause - but I mean seriously, it wasn't the kid's play or attitude, or work ethic ---

Caught the last 30 minutes..... Forsberg played very well, Anisimov a non-factor, I like Duclair-Debrincat together. OT and Shootout were fun.

Duclair would have to pass through waivers to be sent to Rockford.

I'm ok with Duclair getting a one year contract for next season, I view him along the same lines as Jurco. I have no expectations but it doesn't hurt to keep him around in the short term to see if he works out. Given the Hawks cap situation its a good move to take a chance on guys like Duclair, plus they unloaded Panik's contract.

- DarthKane

It never is a bad idea (if you have a good coach who has control of the team) to collect a couple of spare players who might be hungry enough and frustrated enough to then (next) realize that they have to be more, work
harder to reach the next level. Same way it often.works in the business world. Everybody has a hungry heart, Bruce Springsteen croaks in a 1970's song. Not exactly true, yet an accurate enough analogy .

Whether it is Duclair earning a regular spot. Or a Kane producing another sensational scoring season, the players have to figure it out what it takes. Some do and some don"t immediately Maybe Duclair has to hit rock bottom which might mean an AHL half season or more. Returns with a vengence but still thinks he can get by on skill alone....not responsible in other ways. Whether he gets it right away or not.....You have a spare winger like Jurco this season. The AHL team is better if he goes there, as top prospects will also reap benefit of playing with a good (in AHL) player. More likely on a winning team,
