I don't disagree (except for the crawling back part), but I'm not bothered that he didn't make a move prior to Neuvirth getting hurt. There was no urgency then, thus he could try to work a better deal. The urgency level kicked way up when Neuvirth went down. So Hextall went out and got essentially the same deal he reportedly could've gotten earlier. Being patient didn't hurt one bit.
- Scoob

Well how do you think the second phone call went if Hextall didn't dial the numbers? Did nobody get hurt? Well...Elliot and Neuvirth got hurt, I suppose it depends on how you look at it. I like the deal. I'm glad it was on the table again two days later. I just wish I had more confidence in Hextall to accept a no brainer the first time it was offered.

Simmonds is the new JvR I don't want to be traded so I'll claim a 2-3 week injury before the deadline.
- dragonoffrost

I hate that JvR isn't here anymore. I honestly believe JvR would have had an even more successful career playing with G and Jake.

I can see you were visited by Bobd after the Flyers thumped the Rangers on Sunday. Please tune that dude up on every occasion. As for the game, I say thank you. It hopefully will lead to the Rangers getting rid of their dead weight, but I doubt it. Flyers are a likely playoff team and did what a playoff team should do. They beat a bad one.

JvR would have had a long wait to be with them. He got traded because he was a spare part at the time of that deal. Change of scenery helped him a lot.

I don't know... Tony D tuned him up pretty good in that fight and then gave him the Malocchio while they were in the box. This should've been expected.
- MiloslavHorava

I wouldn't say DeAngelo won that fight. He ate a couple good shots and could have ate another on the way down.

I’m surprised Hextall wanted salary retained, unless this portends another deal in the works. I believe they have enough cap space to take on all of Mrazek’s salary.

Mr. "hasn't done much at even strength whatsoever, mediocre at best, average on most nights" Simmonds is 5th out of the 12 forwards at 5v5 scoring.

Well with missing 4-5 important pieces Hank was great before he was buried by playing 10+ games in a row,the Dallas and Winnipig games was vintage Hank

It's very possible that Simmonds has been struggling with physical issues all season so this 2-3 week break could do wonders for him depending on what the issues have been. Maybe we see a different Simmonds when he returns for the stretch drive.

If this year’s likely 3rd round pick turns into a second by them making the conference final, that would mean they beat one of Pitt and the Caps, or both, to get there.

Yup I’m more then ok with losing the 2nd if that happens.

That would be amazing for TK, Provy, Ghost, Patrick and the rest to get big playoff experience and win 2 series.

Likely the pick will just be a 3rd this year though.

Sure, but at 5v5 he's 10th. I love Simmonds, but he hasn't had that good of a year outside of his 20 goals. Though it's worth noting there was speculation he was hurt early on. Hopefully he comes back and is awesome down the stretch into the playoffs.

While I hate losing Simmonds, replacing him with Patrick on the #1 PP would give the PP a different look, as I think Patrick is a much better passer. Obviously they lose Simmonds net front ability, but it may equal out.

I think Lindblom gets PP#2 time, hopefully.

He's had a down year, I just don't buy the mediocre at best. That's a little harsh. Hopefully he springs back to his old self soon.

If it would turn into a 2nd by chance it would be a a late 2nd. I am fine doing that if it meant the Flyers were in the conference finals.

So basically, Simmonds is a Star Trek character, Five of Nine.
