I'm surprised no one has blasted the Flyers medical staff for any of the Elliott/Neuvirth/Simmonds injuries. Yet.

That's scheduled for after lunch.

Right now, YuenglingJagr's lifemate Matthew Barzal has 62 points in 61 games to lead all rookies (by a lot). That puts him on pace for 83-84 points. So, Lindblom should only needs to score at a 3.7PPG rate to take home the rookie scoring race.

I give it slightly higher odds of happening than of Pittsburgh trading us a 1st rounder for Lehtera.

He should be playing next to Patrick and on pp1

So it's basically a 3rd when it's all said and done.

Didn't know Mrazek already has more shutouts than Elliot and Neuvirth combined this season.

I wouldn’t consider moving Manning “selling off players” when it’s one guy who Isn’t even wanted in the lineup. On top of this, he can be replaced with losing nothing: promote internally.

Wisniewski is not an upgrade in my opinion.

Last year, I'm in shambles about Simmonds. This year, not so much. He's been mediocre at best.
- Giroux_Is_God

Kinda had the same sentiment. He'll be missed on the powerplay for sure, but he hasn't done much at even strength whatsoever.

Sucks to hear about Simmonds but unless the Flyers have 3-5 PP a game, they should fair well.

Lindblom has a good chance to be more effective than Simmonds through the course of an entire game imo

Quite possibly. The big impact of losing Simmonds will be on the pp. No one is going to replace what he gives them in that role. Other than that, his play has been average on most nights.

At least a lateral move. They all fall in the same tier of "they get hot, but they also go cold " IMO.

Yep, I'm excited to see what he can bring. I hope Patrick gets Simmonds' spot on the powerplay too.

Good deal for the Flyers. If Mrazek has them in the conference final this season, I don't care what it costs in a conditional pick

When I look around the league and see Buffalo and Edmonton right back where they were two seasons ago, Arizona, and even Carolina struggling to get over the hump after 10 years out of the playoffs, the more convinced I am that losing is poison and you never want to be infected with it

Excited for Lindblom. Hopefully Simmonds will heal quickly and be ready to rock when he returns

As long as the Flyers stay a bit above. 500 to end the season, say 13-10 minimum, 96 points so get them a playoff spot.

I believe Mrazek can accomplish that.

They traded a first for Reaves so anything is possible but I think it's more likely they'd trade a first for amac given their current needs

It's neither.
He made a virtually zero-risk move necessitated by injury. Without injuries, there was no need to make a move.

I disagree. When I heard Hextall rejected this trade prior to the Rangers game, I was a little upset. Elliot is out for an extended period of time. Elliot is older, he has zero future with the club, which leaves Neuvirth to start, who is known by everyone as an injury prone goalie. We needed two NHL goalies to survive the stretch. Neuvirth goes down as many predicted even before Sunday but the deal was already rejected.

Making my point, Mrazek is a capable starter. The MO on him here in Detroit is he wants money and he wants to start. If he doesn't start, he sulks and it wasn't looking like Holland was gonna pay him. With this said Mrazek was pretty awesome his first two season. In my opinion, Detroit's defense is a lot worse than ours. At least we have help on the way to improve.

Not looking for a fight or heated debate. I would have sung Hextall's praises if Hextall accepted the deal before Sunday because there is a possible future here for Mrazek. Instead something predictable happened and Hextall went crawling back.

That’s how I see it. I don’t see them re-signing Mrazek for next year, but who knows.

I don't disagree (except for the crawling back part), but I'm not bothered that he didn't make a move prior to Neuvirth getting hurt. There was no urgency then, thus he could try to work a better deal. The urgency level kicked way up when Neuvirth went down. So Hextall went out and got essentially the same deal he reportedly could've gotten earlier. Being patient didn't hurt one bit.

Simmonds is the new JvR I don't want to be traded so I'll claim a 2-3 week injury before the deadline.

I don't know... Tony D tuned him up pretty good in that fight and then gave him the Malocchio while they were in the box. This should've been expected.
