I wouldn’t consider moving Manning “selling off players” when it’s one guy who Isn’t even wanted in the lineup. On top of this, he can be replaced with losing nothing: promote internally.

The team has been one of the best since December. Not sure I want to move guys in my top 6 or top 9 unless i am getting back something that is significantly better.

For a playoff push you add depth....don't subtract from it

I like the deal and yes, it could work. That said, I see this team as not better off than before Elliot and Neuvirth went down. Mrazek isn't Elliot so they may actually be a little worse off than before Elliot went down and basically the same as before Neuvirth went down. They're still a bubble team and will have to keep playing their butts off to keep a playoff spot.

I'm relatively certain that there will be some conversations between and among the goalies and the defensemen today.

Manning has been arguably our worst dman in recent weeks. And not just by me, everyday he is complained about lol. And I made no mention of moving anyone in our top 6 or 9, nor any forward; just defense. Also my post wasn’t just subtracting a dman, it was replacing one

I have a question that I know I'm absolutely going to be roasted for but here I go.

In my opinion, accepting this trade was a no brainer the first time it was offered. Mrazek is younger than both Elliot and Neuvirth. There is still a ceiling to reach with him. So is Hextall a genius for making this deal, should Mrazek play lights out or is it dumb luck because our goalies got hurt and he didn't accept it when he should have?

Manning is in the top 6 on defense right now. Going into the playoffs I am not sure i want to add a rookie in Sanheim into the mix unless he comes up soon and gets more games in.

That's not really accurate. He's the 5th option on the PK, and he pinches as much as anyone on the defense, but never seems to lose ice time despite the often calamitous results of those pinches.

No. We're on a playoff run in not selling off players for average picks. Manning is asked to play the pk and a defensive first game. Wisniewski isn't going to fill that role any better. We have plenty of picks. If we change that position it needs to be an upgrade or an internal call up

Yup, I would just call up Sanheim at some point to replace Manning in the top 6, slide Manning to 7th and with Morin, Alt, Myers and even Brennan (if you need a pp guy), you have really solid depth heading into the playoffs.
