Starting to realize and feel the same way when it comes to the demands acquisitions in trades. Kapanen for example is gonna be great and could be a future top six forward. Leafs should keep their players draft and develop from within. Sign free agents as they become available and try to get a good return on aging veterans before deadline if they can.

Sorry, I can't see a reality where the glendenings of the league are going to be the difference between a cup or not, and giving away premium picks and prospects for them at the deadline is ridiculous. There are no shortage of these types of player available at the draft and in free agency.

I think the isles are a better match for Hjarlmarsson. They will be more willing to part with an asset which fits into the AZ rebuild than what you are proposing. Both 2nds will likely slot ahead of Toronto's pick.

Prices are going to be high. .and if we're to trade some of out assets/Ufas they'll cost other clubs quite a bit too. .jvr nor bozzy will be traded. .IMHO. .unless (obviously) ..if it makes sense..which could be short or long term help?. .a defensive dman and defensively responsible center ..is what the leafs are looking at. .and Taney. .would be great.
