Okay then!

Lol. Relax.
I only cheer against the Flames twice a year.
Only once in person.
Big fan of the shiny new backup.

Why the continual suggestion that the Flames have Brodie to trade? The left defense depth chart is Wotherspoon, Kylington, Healey and Mattsson. Are any of them ready to play deep into the playoffs? Other than Wotherspoon they total 1 NHL game experience.
Trade Brodie and they need a left defenseman in return how does this improve the team?
The future has a left defense of Goirdano, Brodie, Kulak and Valimaki because Wotherspoon will be in the NHL next year with someone else. If Brodie is traded there is not even an NHL quality back-up next year.

Is the answer to bring Anderson up and ruin his career by making him play left defense, or designate Stone or Hamonic as the whipping boy by making them play left defense?

What the Flames need to do is clear the logjam at right defense because they currently have 5 guys who look like NHL quality right defensemen (Hamilton, Hamonic, Stone, Anderson and Brodie). They also have Adam Fox who probably think he should play in the NHL next year and he can see that signing with Calgary puts him in the AHL so they risk losing a top prospect because of the surplus of right defense.

Continual trade suggestions because he has the highest value.

Gaudreau, Tkachuk and Monahan have higher value, but there is no trade for them that makes the team better.
Unfortunately the cuurent roster puts the available trades for Brodie in the same situation.

The Flames are definitely close enough. If they add an impact player, they could easily win the West. They also probably aren't going to be any better next year or the year after that unless Bennett can figure things out.

Their window to win is now, and they don't really have any high-end prospects that would be a complete disaster if they traded away to take a shot this year. Unfortunately, that's also going to make pretty much impossible to actually get an impact player unless no one else is willing to pay.

Yeah, I'd say they're in the "untouchable" category. Brodie on the other hand, has been dogshirt this season.

I actually think Brodie looked best with Stone. I would not mind seeing that back together for a couple days.
