Tiops saying Ott would ask for Sheahan in a brassard trade
- jchst22

I like Sheahan I'd pass if we had to give him up plus more for Brassard. I still would like to add Kane especially with the game he played against Washington the other night. I feel like he can help on the PK and also help with extra scoring in the playoffs.

It makes zero sense to me why Ottawa would ask for an impending UFA if they’re selling. That’s not a hockey trade for them. It’s just nonsensical
- Victoro311

Pretty sure Sheahan is a RFA and not a UFA

Oh damn, he is an RFA. Yup, makes sense now. Not really interested in moving Sheahan. Getting Brassard for Sheahan is a lot more lateral than getting Brassard for Sheary.

Yea we can't afford to move a center for a center. Kane and Sid would be nasty together. I'll take that even further with 9-87-72 would be a real pain in the ass to play against

Been waiting for like 2 weeks to write this... this is from my ONLY "source" in the NHL haha From the same guy that told me "domi is 100% available" and followed it up with "watch and see it will get out soon enough but im telling you hes 100% available". I posted it in a write up in here about 3 weeks ago and almost everybody questioned me but now I think its clear there is definitely talks going on for him. This guys and NHL pro scout and its not for the penguins or coyotes. Thats all I can say apparently. Anyways...

He said on Domi: Very good hands, competes as hard as anyone, very strong on his skates, can stick handle in a phone booth but sometimes keeps it to long. Can get lost at times trying to do to much. Set up guy passes 1st looks for shot 2nd. Not a hard shot but lets it go quick. His game is very similar to the way crosby plays. Bulldog mentality. Not afraid of the dirty areas at all. Easily a 3rd line player now and definitely has the potential to be a 1st line player. Think 15 goals 35 assists for the next 10 years. Most likely going to be a LWer but hes 22 and has the game and compete level to play center. If he gets let go for a late 1st and average roster player the coyotes I think will regret it. That would be a steal IMO.

Sounds great. I'd probably send Sheary, Sprong (or a 1st RP) and Rowney (or Kuhnhackl) for him. Not a bad offer.

Remember Ty Domi is good friend's with Mario. Let's do this.

this isnt breaking news....Avs beat writers podcast this week mentioned that coyotes have made it know he is available and from what they heart the asking price for him isnt as high as you would assume but aren't willing to give him away, looking for the same young player looking for a change of scenery in return

Retain like 50% and we can talk. Sheahan is better than Sods and is a RFA. No need to acquire a worse C with term and a high cap hit.

This week.... Thats why I said, I said it on a post in here 3 weeks ago. Read. I hadnt heard anything about it before that and from the responces 3 weeks ago nobody else had heard much of it either. As for being eks "source" 1 trade rumor in 5 years I wont be quitting my day job haha

you could do a lot worse. Soderberg gets heavy Dzone starts (68%) and Top PK fwd with Comeau.

His value isnt in his offensive stats. Guy holds his own defensively. I would be torn on moving him bc hes insulation for Compher, Jost, and Kerfoot as they learn how to be 2C and 3C duties in this league

Geez you've been trying to unload him to us for a couple of years now. Does he suck completely? Hard working guy? Has any speed? Sounds like another Sheahan.

I get what you are saying, but they touched on it this week, Im not disputing your claim, but as soon as his name popped up in articles a few weeks back. The old adage where there is smoke there is fire.

Now its a legit fire.

I'm cooling on the Kane idea. Guy seems to have a lot of run-ins with his teammates. I'd trade Sheahan, Sheary and Gus/2nd for Brassard. I don't want to do it, but I think it's enough of an upgrade to make it worthwhile.

Then try to find a cheap 4th......maybe Dom Moore or Dasharnais? How 'bout Dom Moore for Hunwick? Could we get Kruger at 50% retained out of Carolina? The Cullen rumors haven't gone away.

I still want Pouliot out of Buffalo.

Not sure if they're games are all that similar, but as far as roles go, they're similar concepts. Sheahan is younger, an RFA (read cost controlled) probably better, and has a lot more left in the tank. Sods is 32, could start seriously declining any second, and costs almost 5 mil cap hit. There is no reason to even consider Sods unless he comes at 50% cap retention. We can't pay that much annually for what would be a 4C on our team.

doesnt suck, hes a solid Vet and defensive C. Its just the Kids future. Avs have rookie natural Cs in Compher, Jost, Kerfoot, Kamenev, Toninato. Bowers in the prospect pool too.

Gotta make room for the Kids to start taking C spots, cant shift them all the the Wing

Yes to Pouliot. He could be had for cheap. Perhaps Hunwick can go in this deal.
