Was fine with the trade but at the time we didn't need a forward we needed a defenseman. If he also got a top 4 we would be speaking differently about Snow and there in lies the problem. - Cptmjl
The only reason i brought up the Vanek trade was to point out the inconsistency of the isles commander in chief. He just was quoted as saying he wouldn’t do something that he’s already done twice in the past (and failed). |

What that billboard shoulda read, was his quote from when he addressed the fans a decade ago, about how they’re “gonna rebuild, and it will take 5 years.......and how we fans should be patient”....and include the date in bold. |

Was thinking that when the billboard first came about
I remember that line of bullshat he sold everyone. Even a complete, utter, moron could've built a more competitive team by this point. It's been going on 12 (frank)ing years with a lot of top 5 picks and endless firsts with Jack shat to show for it. |

At this late date? What contending team is giving up major pieces? The summer was the best time to trade JT. - ses111

Still sick over the Hamonic/Hall deal not happening. The guy is becoming a stud and even if we had to throw in a second round pick it would have been worth it. Snow failed again! |

The only way i rationalize that enormous blunder is by telling myself it’s a rumor and was never actually on the table. |

It would have been great. No need to sign Ladd. It was a huge miss if that trade could have happened. |

True, but would the Eberle trade have happened if we already had Hall? |

Interesting, I'll say prob not bc Garf would have to move salary to fit Ebs in ....
Also have to consider, would Ladd be on team?? If Hall acquired |

Good for the Oil.....say what you want about Chiarelli, but the guys got no problems letting it ride. As a fan, you want a GM to roll the dice. Good ole safe play Garth shoots for singles or getting hit by a pitch.....i prefer swinging for the fences sometimes. |

I'm not crazy about a lot of deals Chia has made, but he does not sit on his hands like Garth. Still would not want either guy as GM. |

They’ve got prospects, picks, and young talent on the roster.....just like the isles. Only they shuffle and mix it up......stay the course Garth is hoping there are more centers in this years draft. |

You don’t win every trade head to head. You give to get. Bottom line, Chiarelli has constructed a cup winning team. He’s got the assets and the balls to make it happen. That’s just a fact. |

Going to be tough to make the money work if they need to lock up Karlsson with McDavid signed to a huge deal. |

Garth loses by not even being in the game. I get not giving up #1's for rentals and especially this year, but he has 2nd round picks and other assets to trade. |

Maybe not. The assets required to acquire Karlsson could be crippling, especially on a team with little to no forward depth. And then there is Karlsson’s next contract to consider. Frankly I’d prefer if Chiarelli passed on Karlsson and pursued John Carlson in FA. He’d be cheaper, even if he did sign 8x8. |
