I'd like to hold onto the pick to maybe try to land Trouba in the offseason? - ses111
Who knows where his heads at after being part of a really good WPG team this year. Would be real nice to have the right side of the defense go: Trouba-Boychuk-Pulock |

Garth should be fired and never work in hockey again if he brings MM back. - ses111

#Isles chance of ending up with two top-15 picks is rising. CGY only has four teams in West below them in standings (COL with game-in-hand and more ROW.) The 6th through 11th spots in West are tight, though, relative to NHL.500:
12 MIN
11 STL, LAK
10 ANA
9 COL, CGY
Hate to say this, but Snow may have to hang onto those first round picks until after the draft lottery. Would be real tough to trade one, have CGY or NYI miss the playoffs and then win the lottery with that pick. |

If Snowjob is still at the helm of this franchise, he will DEFINITELY hang onto them.
Slow and steady.

Have no issue holding onto the picks. I would not trade them for a rental. Still would trade the 2nd round picks and other pieces for help.

No idea? Isles would be nuts to bring MM back. Johnston is better and cheaper. - ses111
There is always someone cheaper to fill a fourth line role. The AHL is filled with big kids that can check who would stake through a brick wall to play in the NHL. |

I don't think Snow ever considered trading either 1st rounder. |

Still cannot believe he gave one up in the Vanek deal. |

Someone on Twitter asked Boomer if Martin was coming back to the Islanders. He said "he won't confirm or deny"...While I liked Martin when he played for Isles, Johnston has done a good job... |

Yeah, that is more and more looking like Snowjobs "big trade". |

MM is a good guy, but he cannot help this team. Johnston can more than fill the role. |

The fact that we’re even toying with the notion of keeping picks in year 12 is the problem.

Trading for MM with the holes on this roster is like giving an old car new paint, when it needs an engine. Lip stick on a pig... |

How was Matt Martin allowed to walk for his price demand, and then now there’s talk of trading for him AND giving up an asset. This is lunacy... |

It’s never too late. Someone would give up major pieces for the right to sign him. I don’t want to trade Tavares but if he or anyone else is what’s keeping Garth Snow then nice knowin ya. |

Yeah i get it......i still feel he should have been fired for the Vanek debacle. I find it funny that Mr Conservative Garth Snow only takes risks with pending UFAs and has been burned everytime. |
