Inside Information: Matt Martin will be sent back to the Islanders. I don’t like it. But I have better sources than the fool that runs this site (d5)

If you really do know insiders tell them this is a terrible idea

This would be a terrible idea and especially how Johnston has shown he can play.

Garth never seems to do much at the deadline and this is year you figure he really has to do something. I have no idea what to think?

He really doesn't and he won't.

This would be a Garth Snow move to make thinking the fans would love Garth bringing in MM.

I know players and have been in many of their homes so occasionally I get thrown a nugget or two.

This is what I'm afraid of. 99.9% GM's would know they have to do something and especially with JT being an FA.

It’s a distraction. He thinks this will help us forget what a disaster he is

Forwards on this team should get big blame for the defensive problems. The coaching has been bad, but the forwards do not put in the effort. Focus should be on adding a dman than can help now and going forward and help for the third line defensively.

Between now and the beginning of next season there's a few things I'd like to see them do. I am aware that none of them will happen:

- Find a top-4 defenseman. Easier said than done, but they desperately have to do it

- Lock down a third line center, ideally moving Nelson for someone like Pageau. Maybe see if Kulemin can't be re-signed on a significantly cheaper deal. Ideally I'd give him exactly what they gave Chimera. 2 years @ $2.25M per. A line of Ladd-Pageau-Kulemin could provide some good defensive play without wholly sacrificing offense

- Address the goaltending. I have no idea if Halak would take an extension here and it hasn't been discussed at all, but Greiss can't be the #1 next year. No way. Soderstrom is not going to step in and be an option either, he needs AHL time. I would maybe look to re-sign Halak to a two-year deal and trade Greiss, one of the 2nd's and something else to VGK for Malcom Subban

I know even more players than he does, have been in even more of their houses and get thrown even more nuggets and on occasion they have consistently told me that in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer’s table

Trouba would be nice if he still wants to be traded to the States. Pageua would be nice. Rather have someone else besides Kulemin though. Someone younger and quicker.

I have to think Halak will want to move on from this 50 shot team. Subban could be a very nice option.

He's going to be running faster than that. He's probably already talking to real-estate agents.

Assume if Ottawa wants to move Karlsson, they will want the A-level prospect at every position. So that means a 1st (maybe 2), Bellows and Pulock. Or one 1st, a 2nd, Bellows, Pulock and another decent roster player. JHS/MVS aren't A-level prospects for anyone at this point.

one of this years 1sts and ours next year and bellows and pulock and im sold. Karlsson replaces pulock and moves everyone down a spot and is a top pp guy moving leddy to the 2nd pp unit. team can already score so bellows isn't a must, if they ever did this they would have the top pp (already are #6) and could score even more. this move keeps jt and gives us a true #1 d man letting leddy be a #3
