I felt with the team off until Wednesday, today or tomorrow would have been a perfect time for a trade

Read earlier on TSN that the Ducks GM was saying that the prices were ridiculous right now to buy, and perhaps that's preventing the market from really getting into gear early on the trade front. Buyers are waiting for prices to drop, and sellers are holding on their higher demands because they have a week left.

That would lower greater so, the trade return values of free agent rentals, such as Nash and Grabner here, since buyers will know that the sellers of these rental players, may panic, in not wanting to allow them to walk away free for nothing in exchange.
It's also another reason why if a respectable offer is not received for McDonagh, the Rangers should retain him for now, and not deal him until just prior to, or during the Draft. That's if they still would feel then that they may not be able to re-sign him prior to him becoming a UFA in that following summer of 2019.

Possibly Jimbo and TJ to risk losing their shirts there, since the risk, sadly, will not likely be possible in N.Y. for them betting everything on the Rangers beginning in the Spring.

10 of the last 13 games are against Metro teams. That should easily be ~8 losses. And after that horror -------> ONLY 6 months until puckdrop...!

I would like the post deadline, Grabner to still remain here and be re-signed.
I wouldn't mind at a much lower rate, the post deadline, but only made effective Oct., 2018 Nash here again as a mentor, should they be going with even some more young prospects next season.

if we somehow made it into the top 4 at the draft assuming we trade our pick+ to get there or get lucky who does everyone want? Obviously assuming Dahlin is #1. #2 I would grab Svechnikov and if we’re 3 or 4 I want Tkachuk.

i think you would have to give up a lot more than you think to move from 7-9 into the top 5. like our pick and buch or something like that

If I had the second pick, I would pick Zadina.

I want to stop pretending we are going to get into the top 3-4 of the draft.

In saying that I want Tkachuk

I don't think it's a bad idea for the Rangers to have some pick volume as they really need to replenish. That's not to say I would rule out moving up, but not at an excessive cost, and not unless I think the guy I am moving up for is going to be a Superstar. The question really then becomes how much better is the guy I can draft at 3-4 then the guy I would draft at 7-8.

To go from 7 to 4 no way it would cost Buchnevich, that’s crazy. If you had the #4 and a team offered the #7/8 + #20 you wouldn’t do that? It’s close but depending on the other teams need I don’t think it’s out of the question.

I really do think it would cost something like that ya.. comparing the talent level in the top 4 and the rest of the 1st round is pretty big to me.. but thats just me
