He's not good. Bottom line.
- mames11

And DeAngelo was in the lineup with his former Arizona team last season for only 39 games, and had a (-13) rating.

ya I would love to see how he looks under a new staff. I will take his shortcomings esp when hes out there dropping the gloves with wayne (frank)ing simmonds
- mrn22

That was pretty impressive. Simmonds probably out weighs him by a good 20 lbs and is considered one of the best fighters in the league. I would take that on my 3rd pairing any day of the week. Shows some testicles

No Shiit! D corp needs some sort of bite.

So he's a -40 (approx) all the while playing for Ariz (worst team in league) and NYR who has been playing like worst team in the league. Hmmmmm? Seems unfair to judge him using those stats...no?

He shows "promise" which at this stage of season for NYR is all we should be looking at. Same goes for Pionk, Gilmour, and Sproul. All of them look like they "can" become a good dman

Right now we're 10th at the draft but looks like we could drop as low as 6

Need some of that on this team. Give him some PP time next year, keep him limited with 3rd pairing minutes. New coach, he will be fine.

Rumors in Detroit have Mike Green possibly going to Tampa, and he has apparently moved his no trade clause to do so. I think if that trade happens it definitely impacts the Rangers situation on McDonagh.
- Pete V

As I wrote earlier today, Bob McKenzie said this past weekend, that Dallas had joined Boston, Toronto, and Tampa in being in the running for McDoanagh.
McKenzie mentioned that they offered their 1st Rounder, and d'man, Julias Honka (a 5'11" Right Handed 22 year old out of Finland, with under a season's total of NHL games worth experience in this season & last season combined, & carrying about an $863,000 cap hit).
But if Tampa signs Green, that could diminish their interest in McDonagh, and possibly lower his trade value, should mainly Toronto & Boston not get into a bidding war for him against each other in that same Atlantic Division.

Sproul is the only one of the 4 that im not so sure of. Seems like his decision making is a step behind those other guys but I would like to see him keep playing

Yeah, (frank) +/-
- mdw7413

Sarcasm?

Either way.... +/- is only one stat. How many of those goals was he responsible for .....How many turnovers is he making? How much does he go out of position. How are is break out passes (one of most important things for a dman of his ilk).

These are things that must be judged.

Yup, but he made some nice plays yesterday. D is the toughest positition for a rookie to settle into at NHL level.

Our luck we’ll trade everyone, make the playoffs and get knocked out in the 1st round and draft 18th

If we trade everyone, somehow manage to make the playoffs and get knocked out in the first round, we would still have a bundle of picks and prospects to go along with that 18th overall pick.

But, honestly, I think there is a better chance of us blowing unicorns, candy and rainbows out of our asses then trading everyone and making the playoffs.

HAHA.

Just seems silly to rip apart the "rookie" defense, especially when they are the only bright spots on the roster now

If we can end up around 7th/8th in the draft and trade that along with one of the 1sts we get in a trade to get into the top 4 and draft Takchuk I’ll be happy.
