Jan that was one of your best editorials on NYR since I have been following blog. I haven't written anything on the board in a long time, but you inspired me to respond. I haven't seen a Ranger team check out on a coach so visibly since Roger Nielsen in the early '90s. If this organization leaves this coaching staff left in place before the next game, the damage to the fan base will irreparable. This is so hard to watch fans in the stands are turning on Hank and not chanting for AV to be fired.

Dundee!!!!
- jimbo83

Jan Levine has demanded to be traded now to cover another team on this site, for more than one reason only!

Meanwhile, also with dundee's return, my longest posts, for one thing, will appear in page height to be only one liners in comparison.

Welcome back, dundee.

Enjoyed the first and second periods. Needed more beer for that third, though

The -17 stat for Deangelo certainly isn't good but it doesn't seem like he's been that bad defensively. I noticed today he was defending 3 two on ones when Holden got caught. Can't remember if 2 of those went in or it was only the 1.

He's not good. Bottom line.

Rumors in Detroit have Mike Green possibly going to Tampa, and he has apparently moved his no trade clause to do so. I think if that trade happens it definitely impacts the Rangers situation on McDonagh.

I like his offensive skills and he's gaining more confidence in the O-zone, but defensively, he was terrible at the beginning of the season and I do not see any improvement now. Perhaps it's the system...pairing...who knows anymore. Coach certainly does not.

wonder if that would help set a price for Mcdonagh

not that they are apples to apples

ya I would love to see how he looks under a new staff. I will take his shortcomings esp when hes out there dropping the gloves with wayne (frank)ing simmonds

arms race, it makes Boston or Toronto more desperate for McDonagh

I think it would hurt, takes away one of the big suitors for McDonagh

I don't think he is as bad as the +/- number, but that is still a crazy number in 22 games.

Yesterday he had to defend three 2 on 1's. I know for sure 1 was a goal but it might have been 2/3 not positive. I don't think he's been bad but the +/- certainly isn't good, although his 2 defense partners this year have been Smith and Holden.....

2/19/18 | 9:45AM: Craig Custance said on WGR Radio in Buffalo on Monday morning that he feels there is a "real chance" that McDonagh gets moved because trading him now would give the acquiring team at least two potential playoff runs.

He added that if the Rangers are looking to get a return similar to what they gave up for Keith Yandle, that kind of deal has to happen now.

Custance noted that McDonagh resubmitted his list of teams he would not go to and that it's different from a previous version.

He must have added Toronto, Tampa and Boston to the list he would not go to

Not the team, but the mcdavid pick only rather haha

They drafted that Hall guy too. Not a bad player...

I don’t get why the Rangers seem unwilling to trade anyone except Hank. I mean they haven’t done his trade value any favors running him into the ground this year but still. If you could get a great return and clear that contract it’s big. Replacing him would obviously be an issue...

No way we can rate DeAngelo's ceiling right now. NYR is a team in flux, and to try and decide whether or not he's good is ridiculous. He's a good skater, puck handler, passer, shooter, and he's tough. Let the kid get some stability w/ a defensive minded partner.....NOt to mention a foward group who doesn't leave it's D out to dry every shift

The kid is trying to show he belongs, and iwill show some growing pains. Hasn't played 60 games in NHL yet!!!! Geez, he's the least of our worries

I dont think you realize they would like to trade Hank but cannot unless he say yes trade me. He needs to waive plus carries a cap hit of $8.5 for the next 3 years

very conflicted on my thoughts of Miller

you cant argue AV (frank)s with him by yanking him all around the lineup and playing him with plugs like CM

but god the guy does himself no favors.. how many times to you see him coasting to a puck or looking a bit disinterested in the play.

- mrn22

Your second "conflicted" thought on Miller is he appearing in those ways as a result of your first factual thought of him that you mentioned.
I'm surprised that A.V. hasn't told him to play in goal yet.

How will Miller ever be able to gain & remain with cohesion with 2 other forwards, if he is constantly bounced from line to line, and playing with different line mates in the majority of their games? How about him only playing the wing where he is best suited, instead of at center to make up for management's incorrect expectations? That forced changes, including with Miller, a few games only into this season, due in key to a 19 year old center in Andersson not panning out that early in the start of his NHL career.

Miller had it all going well for the first quarter of last season in being partnered every game with Hayes and Grabner, prior to A.V. stupidly separating their one of the top NHL producing and speediest lines, all to compensate for the loss of Zib with his broken fibula.
A.V. finally reunited that line at times this season, only to throw Miller all over the place otherwise.
