And the year after, and the year after, and so on and so on.
3 years away from being 9 years away from being 3 years away. The new Oilers, thank you Aquilini.
This team will never win because the owner is not a winner, he is a cheater, he cheated his way to his wealth, hell, he owns this team by cheating out Gaglardi.

Pierre Lebrun asked a rival GM what he thought of the signing and he said he would make this signing in a heart beat. A playoff GM at that - CanuckDon
next pierre should ask a gm of a team that is rebuilding and needs picks/prospects. |

When players like Holden/Kempney are getting back 3rds, I'm guessing any dman capable of playing 18-20 mins per night has decent value at this point.
the winger market is more of a mystery right now, but the dman market looks like it's hot. |

Gudbransons contract will never ever be even close to as bad as LE's IMO. I think Jim Benning's worst move as Canucks GM has been that signing. - Codes1087
Cannot argue about that but Iβm past that. Rather look forward to the prospects etc. |

To be fair that's a great signing by Banning. Thought he was going to do something silly. |

As long as they acquire more top three picks (rounds) this will be fine. - LeftCoaster
More picks we need. Always was on board for that. Phase 2 come the TDL hopefully get another 2nd & 3rd |

lol, shut up
Honestly was expecting 4-5 years and limited NTC though. I think most of us had him pegged in the 4M-ish range so the $ amount is no surprise.
Still don't like it at all, but it could have been worse I guess.

The way the contract is structured makes it seem like they'd be open to moving him in year 3, unless they want to re-sign him again.
I'm cool with stopgaps, but this team needs extra draft picks. I'd much rather have an extra 2nd rounder in this draft and then go out and sign a stopgap bottom pairing vet dman this summer, even if it's an older guy. - Nucker101

No, in all honestly it's hilarious, Erik Gudbranson is making 4 million bucks a year as a 3rd pairing dman. But what can you do.? |

Have been working too much and not online.
Give me the readers digest version of how the masses viewed the signing!?!
sounds decent to me (off the top of my head).
I assume the trade market was saturated and the potential return was not great.
i'd rather have Guddy for 4m on top 4 than a 3rd rounder.
