I like this idea as well. Question is, who do you select out of Tkachuck, Zadina, and Svechnikov? Tkachuck brings elements the other two do not but the skill level Zadina and Svechnikov are capable of is undeniable - Bakwas
I think you have to look at the success of the Dad and Brother . I would be fine with Tkachuk |

I swear Halifax always has a top forward prospect in every draft. Just in recent years alone they've had MacKinnon, Drouin, Ehlers, Meier, Hischier and now Zadina.
There's 60 CHL teams so that's pretty crazy. |

If they really like a forward I would be perfectly fine with drafting one and going D heavy the rest of the way. Ideally they have an extra 2nd or 3rd after the TDL. - Nucker101
I think Boqvist, Bouchard, Dobson all bring an element we need on the back end, and are all RHD. I also don't think Tkachuk is truly BPA over them either, This year will be like most years where, outside of the big 3, the need 5-7 will not have a wrong answer. Big 3 being Dahlin, Zadina, Svech.
Zadina is hard for me to truly like. The kid is good, but is he Laine good or Puljaarvi good? |

only one of them will be available when we pick. BPA at 5th overall and then 3 straight D after that. |

I have a feeling when Benning made his comments last night he was thinking Edler Guddy Tanev OJ Stecher and MDZ for at least the next two years |

His shot isn't as lethal as Laine's but he's a better scorer than Puljujarvi.
The guy knows how to get himself open and his finishing ability is great.
Plus he elbow'd a goalie in the head and has 2 game misconducts so he's not soft |

I still think we should focus on D from our pick and onwards. I could understand if we get a top 3 going with one of those 3, i just think we should draft/develop a D with most of our picks this draft. I also think we will pass on Tkachuk for the same reasons we passed on Matthew. |

I'd rather go into the drat with the mindset "we'll draft a dman with our picks unless a forward we really like at that spot is still available"

JB should go after 2 players, a d and a forward in the first round, make a trade for that other mid to late first. |

Jamie Benn is a fluke in the 5th round. Realistically any player outside the 3rd(possibly even 2nd) becoming THAT good is a fluke. No necessarily for the player, but for the team. Benn would have likely been that god no matter who drafted him. |

Gudbranson destroys hardest-shot field in SuperSkills competition with blast of 103.4 mph. Also had second-best with 101.3. Derrick Pouliot was third best at 98.2. No Virtanen, Vanek or Horvat in field |

He was destined to be a baseball player. Changed his mind at the last minute and was drafted before he played CHL. When he got to Kelowna it was obvious that he was a baseball player trying to become a hockey player.
It was his time in Kelowna that changed everything for him. Could have easily been someone who never made it. |
