The dream would be for Lind to replace one of the zombies in Weise/Lehtera. Not sure we see it but one can dream.

I do think Mrazek comes in with his balls on fire a bit. Dude is basically playing for his NHL career, similar to Mason years ago.

Should be a fun ride from this point, the meaningless games aren't so meaningless anymore.

1 more trade would work, trade one of the zombies, then they have 4 lines

My observations from the previous days:

- Even though the game was sloppy defensively there were some things I liked. Gostisbehere stepping up for konecny. Yes the hit was clean but when a guy who normally doesn't do that drops the gloves that tends to open eyes within your teammates. To me this looks like a close nit team that has a swagger right now

- Mrazek trade was a must. i know will say it was too much but I think this has the future tied to it. I think you could see the Flyers resign him to something less than his QO will be. At 26 this allow the Flyers some time with Hart and next year there is no way the Flyers can be in the same situation with two goalies having injuries. I think Neuvirth isn't here next year.

- Inregards to the rebuild i really think getting Patrick accelerated it a little. Before the lottery they would have needed time to find a 2nd line center and develop him. Getting Patrick and the breakout of Couturier has kind of accelerated this teams development. With guys like Konecny, Provorov, Gostisbehere and hagg all playing big roles, I think this team could be a little closer to being a playoff threat then before.

correct and if he plays light out resigns it cost another 3rd next year, good deal due to being performance driven
- wcorvette

Had to do it. They were going to be in the market for a goalie this summer anyway. Noworth is a zero except for his cap hit

Plus they could always get a 3rd rounder back at the draft if they really want to.

MJL said he reserves the right to see if this is a good trade, after the season...

doesn't like it now...

The trade, if they do nothing, don't make playoffs, it cost them a 4th round pick...

I don't mind the trade at all. they had to do something. I like the fact he is younger at 26. He will be very motivated and he is going to a team in the heart of a playoff race.

agree, it is an incentive deal, where the player has all the motivation in the world to prove everyone wrong, and for the near future the net is his to own.

I love Hextalls approach to the call up and trade

The years he was behind a capable red wings team he has a .916 save percentage vs this year and last year God awful teams it's .908 for a career average of .910. Neuvirth is also a career .910 with way more up and downs regardless of the team in front of him. Elliot has a career .916 and several cases of elite levels of play. Elliot still clear 1 when healthy and neuvy mrazek is a coin flip. At age 26 though with a proper goalie coach and descent team in front he's got potential. How many late career bloomers have there been in the Nhl? Specifically at goalie.

agree, plus a fresh start on a team who has good MO right now should help.

plus he is playing for a contract.

I also don't know if anyone mentioned the Czech connection but he's played with voracek and company before there's familiarity there

I really question if Neuvirth is back next year. This team is on an upward trajectory and not sure next year you can go into it with 2 goalies who had injuries that kept them out long term.

They might not QO him but i could see them resign him on something like a 2 year deal and run a platoon with Elliott and see who takes the reigns. Neuvirth could be moved for very little to a team needing a back up.

real question, if no one is hurt, calling up Lindbolm means who is getting traded?

If MJL doesn’t like it, probably means it’s a good deal. Reserves the right to judge after the season, LOL. Man should change his name to Captain Obvious. However, I really don’t see any significant downside to this deal. Of course, I didn’t spend the last couple of days twisting myself into a pretzel trying to convince all that moving a 3rd round pick would be greatest mistake since Neville Chamberlain declaring “Peace In Our Time!” in 1938.

I'm living rent free. Of course you weren't at all involved in discussing a potential move. I had that conversation by myself. Nice added hyperbole there with the Chamberlain comment!

I think it's more likely that someone is hurt unfortunately.

According to Bill, via twitter, Ron mentioned someone else "might" be injured and they would release more information later today.

to be fair....his focus is on who plays for the Flyers....his insistence that our new tender wasn't worth a 3rd rounder just shows a lack of knowledge when discussing any player not philly. Good solid, needed trade for the Flyers.
on another note hopefully its not an injury to the top 6 that led to lindblom.
