i am not sold on mrazek, but if all it takes is a 3rd rounder to get a legit upgrade, then do it. JFC, we have a million picks. Holmger used to pass out 2nd rounders like dollar bills at a coke party. they'll survive. - hammarby31
I agree... I have more worries about Mrazak off the ice then on it. This has been on of the better flyers locker rooms in recent memory and I would hate for a Pre Madonna goalie to mess it all up. |

Exactly.
As I posted a few days ago, no one saw any of the following winning the Cup or going to the finals at the start of the playoffs:
85-86 Canadiens
89-90 Oilers
92-93 Canadiens
97-98 Capitals
02-03 Hurricanes
05-06 Hurricanes
05-06 Oilers
11-12 Devils
A goalie can get hot, your opponent can suffer key injuries, the favorite could get upset in the previous round. All of these can and have happened. To refuse to part with a 3rd round pick to legitimately improve your team's chances in the playoffs is just silly. No one is calling for them to trade Sanheim, Frost, Lindblom, Myers, Rubtsov, Hart or a 1st, just one 3rd round friggin pick. - BiggE
this.
let's not forget the 06 hurricanes opponent were the oilers, who i'm sure NOBODY picked to go to the final. Roloson got hurt in game 1 and they rode Jussi Markanen to a game 7. but when the flyers get there it's a budding dynasty with all hands on deck. see: canadiens, islanders, oilers, red wings, black hawks.

They’ve won one Cup since prior to the U.S. entry into WWII. That franchise is an utter joke! - BiggE

Your preemptive anger is interesting.
Unhealthy, but interesting.
Also, before Neuvirth got hurt, there wasn't a pressing need to acquire another goalie. Elliot will be back for the playoffs. There was no hesitation. Now that Neuvirth is hurt, there is a pressing need. I doubt Hextall is playing Candy Crush right now. He's working to get something done - not hesitating. - Scoob
it depends on your definition of pressing. it probably would have been smart because the odds of neuvirth getting injured were high. hextall hedged and lost. his cost just got higher. i don't think the cost between now and the TDL will go up. it is what it is. he has a week. he will make a deal. i'm just not sure what he wants. i don't think anybody does.
that said, at least it happened now, and not after the deadline because then we're stuck with whatever's in the system.
i'd be thrilled with raanta or dell. |

I like Raanta but does Arizona really want to move him? I'm sure they'd like to find some level of stability at the position and I don't think they have much on the depth chart behind him. - hereticpride
they want to resign him, and they should. he's solid. |

i tweeted yesterday that i can't wait to watch Hart shut that (frank)ing franchise out for 15 years. i don't think of raanta as a ranger for some reason, so i'd be fine with him here. i'd be happy with that duo. |

This tells me its bad. If they knew he'd be out a week or two they would've just come out and said it. Holding there cards close to the vest, so they don't come off as desperate. Lyon blanking the Habs tomorrow night would help Hexy make a deal easier.

Flyers are going to have to create some space for next season on the defense for some youngsters to come in. It will be interesting to see what they do. - MJL
Easily done, don't bring back Manning or Alt. Hagg's contract is up too.
