But they might. And that’s the game of chicken that goes on between now and a week from now. Right now, a whole bunch of teams are saying, “We’re not paying those prices,” and nobody has. But the minute one of them pays, suddenly it’s game on and everybody starts to go that way.

Babs wants him. I don't imagine Shanny, Lou, Hunter or Dubas do.

Coaches will always value players they trust. They value players differently than fans do. Lou has to walk a fine line here.

He's looking out for both the immediate and long term interests of his team. But he also wants to keep his head coach happy. He can't give in to every player demand his coach makes. But he can't say "no" every time either.

Lou likely tells Babs "I gave up a 2nd for Boyle last year because you wanted him. I'm not giving up another one for Glendening."

Then Babs likely says "But he's a man's man, Realgud pro, great family values, great work ethic, plays the game the right way, a winner, an elite competitor...I love me some GLENNY!!!!"
