hank did not have a strong game, he will be the first to admit it. On rare occasions he has completed, but usually, Lundqvist has criticized his own performance. There is no way he should have been back between the pipes. Plus, once he was, pulled him after the second, as he looks wiped. The team is on a downward slope and the mentality right now is that the majority of the squad has either checked out or focused on the trade deadline.

Those who criticize Lundqvist's contract are having a field day this season. He hasn't helped lately, but for three months, he put the team on his back. Now, he is suffering from it, which also is adversely impacting the team. The time has come for a change behind the bench, either right now or after the season.

I blame the players as well but the coaching staff has bear a good brunt of the criticism.

That's why the entire bench coaching staff MUST ALL BE OUSTED RIGHT NOW, prior to any single move being made stupidly just for the sake of selling (outside of THIS summer's current UFA's for the most part), with no telling of what the new direction would prefer if hired after the reconstruction here takes place.
Believe me Jan from my own experience of both playing and coaching goalies, on that very first goal Hank allowed in looking very drained on reacting to the shot, he looked even more so like he was a relatively earlier beginner, had this been instead a goalie instructional clinic with me seeing this goalie for the very first time.
That's how ridiculous it was today for A.V. to leave him in this entire game, as opposed to removing him after the 1st period at the latest. It also wasn't fair for Hank, both in being embarrassed on National tv, and having his numbers take a big downfall both today and yesterday. Even worse, to try and save the job of the coach who he has saved in contrast, after very recently being taken to task by that clueless coach.

It'll be interesting to see if he takes the next step under a new coaching staff. If he doesn't, well, he'll be the next on my list to go.

He's going to be 2nd on the team in scoring in back to back years at 24 years old and gets jerked all over the lineup more than anyone.

Thank God we have a fellow former Ranger goalie, in Valliquette here, who upon after these two horrible games within 25 hours of each other, besides showing his disgust against those dopey Rangers fans in attendance today who took their frustrations out on Hank, would have also had his say against A.V. if he didn't mind losing his own job.

Just a terrible game all around, including Hank. No player is above criticism, ever, and he definitely gave up bad goals today. However you boo the team, chant "fire (insert name here)", but instead they Bronx cheer Hank? Just seems short sighted to me and honestly pulls the focus away of what's really going on here. At the same time, and I wouldn't do it, but do understand it to a point.

Even though I don't believe in tanking, this team as constructed/what they will be post deadline will probably drop a few places. Which is good for the organization. If you fall, fall properly by still going out there to win. I just think there's bad juju if it's done on purpose. I.E. Sixers and Oilers just to name a couple.

There have been PLENTY of times I just think to myself "what the hell is he doing out there?" and I think he does it to himself. I guess you're right though, he still manages to be top 5 on the team in points. Might not be a terrible thing to see if our next coach can figure out his sweet spot.

That's just it. I don't care if he was 5th in the league in scoring, he still makes some VERY stupid plays and he's earned this title of being "lazy", although I think lazy isn't a fair title. He's just a bit of a bonehead sometimes.

He's still only 24 though, I think he'll figure it out under a new coach. I think he's frustrated with AV and he's thinking to much on the ice.

Yea I agree and it could just be who he is. I just wish there was one more year on his contract to see where he's at.

Yah because he's the only one doing dumb poop out there . Most on here give Zucc a pass cause he's small and works hard . But he takes dumb ass pentatlies also and has taken the team off the pp a few times . Zucc is given the rangers so called top players to skate with and is only a few pts ahead of Miller .

True and although I'm not opposed to that chance I also think it's time for a personnel change. I know I'll get killed here for this view, but here's who could be here post deadline forwards wise and where I think they truly are. Miller, Hayes, Vesey as GREAT 3rd liners to good 2nd liners. Kreider and Zucc as good 2nd liners. Zib and Buch as VERY good 2nd liners but good enough to supplement on the 1st line. Outside of Buch and Vesey and to an extent Zib, all those players have been given the chance to be better or more consistent and in my opinion have failed to prove it. I know most will disagree and that's fine even I think I'm being harsh, haha. My point is that if it takes some of those guys to get elite talent whether it be a prospect or picks, so be it. Outside of Hank, this organization has lacked real elite talent for quite some time.

There are no guys that are good enough to elevate the guys playing with them. We have some great supporting guys like a Kreider, Buch, Zucc etc, but none of the, can carry or elevate the guys on their line. A first line next year of JVR Draisaitl Debrusk could change that though

I'm not going to start comparing guys but he is right. Zucc probably takes just as many dumb penalties as Miller does

Miller's disgust of A.V. began last season when that trio of him on a line with Hayes and Grabner were separated by A. V. for good, after Zibby broke his fibula on Nov. 20th of last season in that home shootout loss to Florida. Since then, A.V. has never allowed him to stay in one place to gain cohesion with any two players. He has bounced Miller around all over the place with whomever from line to line, although reuniting him finally at times this season as part of that top speedy and game producing line of early last season.

The Bruins have made it known that barring any desperate necessity, they are not trading Debrusk or McAvoy.
Draisaitl's case could be different, although his play has gone down this season for Edmonton in comparison to what they expect for his norm.

Their playoff chances are basically gone, should 96 points be the requirement for the 2nd Eastern Wild Card spot. They have only 59 points in 60 games played, making them forced to finish with an 18-3-1 record, which is a pipe dream under this coaching staff, injuries or no injuries. In addition, they have to play 13 games on the road (currently 9-17-2) of their remaining 22.

Even worse in depicting this team's sad failures, their record in their previous 81 REGULAR SEASON GAMES played to date, and dating back to Feb. 26th of last season is now 35-37-9 for 79 points, for 1 game's worth shy of a full regular season.

Ironically, that 79 points is more likely what they will end up with this season, if they "improve greatly in winning %" by going 10-12-0 through its end, as opposed to a current and horrendous 8-16-2 in their last 26 games played since Dec. 21st.
