Reading some of the posts from you guys quoting other "fans" posts.

Guess for those "knowledgeable" fans it's against their code to give credit where credit is due. Can't respect a Malkin or Crosby or the likes because they happen to have outplayed your team in one game. Stoopid homers.

- Woderwick

The leafs weren't outplayed, they were physically dominated last night. Thrown around like rag dolls. Leafs skilled guys were scared, didn't want to compete. Watch the game

And kadri becomes your 3C...it would be the best top 3 centres in the league

And if leafs management including Babcock sees that, takes note of that they won’t announce it either ie may upgrade and get a few pieces that can dominate and play physical. Lou never shares his hand. Who on leafs can play physical I’d say Hyman and Kadri and perhaps polak. Exciting to see what changes if any they make before 26th

Other then the Defense looking lost last night. Ya cant wine to much over the loss. Cant win em all. Plus for the Pens it was in there own barn, there hot right now and there less in a good playoff spot then the Leafs are. The Kadri line had a bad night, but they pretty much carried the team the five or six games before.

I thought the leafs d were bad. Missed assignments bad clears. Mainly Hainsey and gardiner, even Zaitsev wasn’t great.

That's what a good team can do to them on any given night. Crazy to think another team doesn't deserve to win.

As far as physical dominance - yeah that's a possibility I guess. Speed would seem to be a logical way to overcome that. Malkin is a freakin beast - especially when he puts his mind to it - especially when he gets pissed.

Gardiner is soft - wants to make sure he doesn't break those eggs in the corners. It isn't anything new - that's who he is and how he plays. Darts out of the way and uses an active stick to knock the puck off guys. You want something different from him? Ain't gonna happen.

Leafs still could have won that game - as off as they were and as on as "The Other Big M" played.

People think after going 9-1 and winning 5 in a row that the Leafs will never lose again.

Yeah I was fine with the loss last night. Pens are a great team and they do have 3 good lines as well. Leafs had some chances that didn’t go. Matthews with a couple and komarov fanning on an empty net.
I didn’t think it was that lopsided of a game. Fun game to watch.

too bad the Leafs couldn't get any point(s) last night as both Boston and Tampa lost.

Boston is going to go through a tough stretch. They play pretty much every other night till the end of the reg season.

Yeah he had everyone believing it was a broken stick. I don’t think it helped much with leafs having possession of the puck down low and trying navigate around his “broken stick.”

He couldn't make a backhands shot last night. If any those where on net.

Anyways bring on Detroit and they have been playing some good hockey as well.

If anything the contact was made at the boards where both of them got hammered. 'What's the' nearly knocked himself out the silly bastard!

No way that even gets mentioned after the game - except in here.

- Aussiepenguin

Did the two of you actually watch the play or are you just being intentionally dumb? Like, is this a shtick? Legit question.

'Cause anyone with eyes and a brain can see that Maatta took his skates out with his stick.

I think it was his first one when it was a 3 on 1, he kept and tried to go back hand but he had nylander to his left wide open. If shoveled that over nylander had an empty net.

I remember Hughson talking about it. Don't remember if they said it was broken or just left there in discuss for missing the net.

I don't think people understand the magnitude of having a Crosby/Malkin 1-2 punch.

You try and shutdown Crosby, but then Malkin gets the easy matchups and dominates.

I thought it was an even game, Matthews missed a few tap ins. JVR too. Murray robbed Hyman.

It would be an awesome playoff matchup

Agreed. Malkin beat them and Matthews/nylander with lots of good chances, puck bounces.

But put Martin in he swings it leafs way.

Fans next to the penalty box said "basketball, basketball, basketball" to Smith-Pelly when he was in the penalty box, according to a Caps spokesman. DSP was understandably upset. The off-ice official confirmed what happened and the fans were booted. That's the holdup for Trotz.

Im bored waiting to go to breakfast, scrolling through twitter

I"ve learned that the leafs need Martin back in the lineup because they've been playing so poorly since they took him out

The leafs 8-2 last 10, but 4-5 could be losses...and Tampa and Boston both have records that rival the leafs in those last 10, and their record is their record

Babsock loves small skilled players, hates muckers and pluggers. Mamagement and coach listening to the media and playing weak players.

It's been quite entertaining.

Reminds me of listening to the Fan590 after a Leafs game... I wonder where the idiots who call in actually come from. It is like there is a maximum IQ requirement for those call-in shows, and it ain't high.

Is really that unbeleiveable ?

It's sad that it's not all that surprising.
