I don't agree with this. Maybe in the past, but ive been enough sports teams where the wrong guy had the C. It was completely irrelevant. I mean, he felt good about it so good for him but the rest of the team knew who ran the show.

Id say let the players pick because they're going to pick that guy whether he has the C or not.

Well the coach should see who would lead the team . THat's what i;m getting at .

Coach says ok .. so and so is the captain . You slacker over there ? , you answer to him . or sit out . captain will tell me who needs to sit beyond my vision

maybe it was the beef wellington hors devours, where they wrap it in a pastry?
- Michael Pachla

That's just Beef Wellington, it's beef, coated with pate, wrapped in pastry and then baked.

Im not going pretend Rielly is some star because he isn't. He's still brutal in his own end. The difference is he's had a big impact and produced enough offensively to cover up for that.

He's doing all of this while receiving far less ice time as well, an argument often used to defend risto. Less ice time may make him seem competent in his own end, but it won't help the fact that for an offensive d-man, he can't drive offense.

- Sabresfan-365

My point is last year everyone thought Rielly was dogpoop and this year everyone is fine with him.

We(fans and coaches/management) put way too much onto these kids way too early and expect the moon. And when they don't deliver, just fire them into the sun, they're worthless.

Because even though he may not have been great, if you look at his numbers, they've trended up every year. And the numbers aren't just good relative to when the leafs were crap, his numbers indicate he's driving offense

Ristolainen may be young, but at 300+ games, he's no longer a kid by NHL standards.

I'm not talking about experience. I'm talking about his body being too young to handle it. There's a reason, aside from Ristolainen, the ice time leaders are older guys.

And he needs a steadying influence for a partner, not Scandella or Beaulieu, and no, that does not make him bad and not worth paying or trading away for a forward. You keep guys like him.

No, it just makes him not a top pair guy. strictly through eye test, his problem is between the ears in his own end, not his body (although he lacks the foot speed most top pair guys seem to have).

He's not a difference maker. Im not saying trading him for peanuts, but it'd be nuts not to at least consider upgrades.

Stated simpler: if this team is ever going to win a championship, it needs a defenseman better than Rasmus Ristolainen on it.

And probably just 1. I think he could be a Seabrook. We need to find Keith. Maybe Guhle?

I actually had hopes going into last season after his big preseason, that Guhle would be the Seabrook and Ristolainen would be the Keith type.

I guess I should have noticed after a while, but I never realized that body checking is a no-no in women's hockey.

Risto is obviously having an off year. No reason to think he can't bounce back. He just didn't turn into a bad a hockey player.

I really want to believe in Botterill and Housley, but this team is a mess, and could be a place where careers go to die.

It's mind boggling how many players can be having such bad years.

Perhaps signing management and coaches that have no ties to buffalo might be better than the stays quo?

That’s my bad. I figured it was the tendeloin roast with the seasoning and the diamond scores in the meat

I guess I’m more of a nacho cart guy than the beef Wellington kind.

I’m gonna make me one and see what all the hype is.

I've never had it, the only reason I know what it is is because of Hell's Kitchen.
