Point taken, But deals are still made all the time and there's no reason why GMJB needs to wait until deadline day to get things done, especially since he has a lot to get done.

But if he's going to throw a tantrum and be slamming doors over the piss poor play of the bums he's iced, then it's his job, and only his job to do something about that. Don't cry about it, be about it, and send someone packing already. How much more "evaluation" time does he need to know Larsson and Girgensons suck and he should probably be looking at finding them new homes?

If this season is a tank job and the goal is to be last, great, we're on course. But if he's legitimately upset with this teams performance, sitting on his hands all day isn't solving anything.

I'd add NOT extending Kane and holding off on Reinhart and Lehner were prudent and important decisions as well.

Pouliot was a smart gamble.

I was giving him the benefit of the doubt. I didn't like giving up that pick, but Lehner looked awesome his rookie year and was hoping good health would bring more of that.

I like GMJB and I like the moves he's made so far. I'm just saying that if he's so upset with the team currently, than he needs to do something. He's has 75% of this roster he can move and no one would give a damn. He's got 20 other teams who are probably buyers he can work with, and he's got 2 weeks left to move a bunch of guys and get what he can. I just cannot buy that there's no dance partners for him right now. Even trading Gorges for a 5th would send a massage to the team. To do nothing all season while they stink and then freak out over their poor play and still do nothing, sends out a very weird mixed message.

Tank move: can't hold the captain responsible- there is no captain.

Also trade away: 2 guys that were tough. Foligno and d low. Make us softer, easier to play against, easier to lose.

No way. He pitched a 6-8 month roster evaluation, if anything, and building from the ground-up, creating a winning environment in the farm system and filtering out the guys who wouldn't adapt to system-hockey under Housley.

Unfortunately for him, there's a grand total of 3, maybe 4 guys who actually listen to their coach, a complete lack of effort/talent and I can't imagine anyone thought we'd suck this bad going into the season, what with such hot takes as:

Trading Gorges for a 5th sends the wrong message. You lose your dressing room by dumping a warrior (like him or not) for nothing.
