Goldy and Hutton for Domi - E5 - mauryballstein
Really? Domi's diminishing numbers are probably one of the examples Canucks' coaching and management use to remind themselves why Virtanen needs to earn his icetime.
.........................................GP..G..A..Pts..PIM..+/-
2015-16 Arizona Coyotes 81 18 34 52 72 3
2016-17 Arizona Coyotes 59 9 29 38 40 -9
2017-18 Arizona Coyotes 57 4 21 25 43 -20
Four goals. FOUR. That ties him with our beloved Brendan Gaunce. At least Gaunce is responsible defensively, kills penalties and has an even +/- on a crappy team.
At this point Arizona is probably looking at moving Domi as addition by subtraction.

He did have a decent rookie year . But after that not so much. - VANTEL
So true, and it's a bit of a kick in the balls because the canucks need a surprise or two out of their stock of prospects if they want this transition to go quickly. |

They need his contract to get to the floor plus he's been on IR since 2015, he'll never play again and insurance is paying him. |

Going to need to be more to get Domi than Goldobin and Hutton.
Try JV and Hutton.
Edit. Replied to wrong person. |

What makes you think the Comets are fast and physical? The one box score posted from last game?
Carcone and Molino are the only guys I would consider fast on that team. - belcherbd
fast hockey as in moving the puck fast, this is not speed skating |

Nah. That's a huge overpay.
JV straight up is closer to fair, but i wouldn't do that deal personally.
i think we'd regret moving Virtanan. too early to give up on the kid. |

He hasn't been the same shooter since he knocked kesler out, but last year he was on pace to have a better season than his rookie year. He is more of a playmaker with grit than a sniper anyways. He would be a great addition on that line. Someone with good vision and can pass. He also plays on a poopty team this year, worse than the last 2 years. |

I think Gold and Hutton is fair value. Hutton is a #5 dman right now and still has that top 4 potential, has a good contract and is young. Goldy has a lot of offensive potential. Domi gives us things we are missing. It is a good deal for both sides. |

agreed. All 3 have untapped potential.

I think now is the wrong time to sell low on Jake, but Domi has much more value considering what he has done in the league so far. |

isn't it amazing.
We throw temper tantrums at the management not selling off older players for literally anything, then we turn around and see what the asking cost would be to RE-acquire them. it's mind boggling.
BTW

Can we start a gofundme page, to raise money to get a billboard up saying we don't want FA as team owner anymore? Seems like a good use of donation money. |

Goldobin is a step away from the KHL, he's been sliding down the depth chart on a team with few prospects (AHL).
I like Hutton but selling low right now and still see Domi as by far the best current and future player. |

Carol Schram: Canucks lose to Florida, on to San Jose as Jim Benning gets down to work
The chatter around the Vancouver Canucks is quieting now that Jim Benning has a vote of confidence from ownership in the form of a new contract extension. On the ice, Jacob Markstrom was pulled after 20 minutes as the Canucks dropped a 4-3 decision to the Florida Panthers on Wednesday. They'll visit the Sharks in San Jose on Thursday. - Carol Schram
Thanks Carol !!!!!!!!!! |
