That's true and I do think birthdate can be significant but still lean towards Bouchard at this point.

Karlsson is going to be had to replicate by Dahlin let alone Boqvist.

- belcherbd

Bouchard reminds me of OJ in the way that he's not dynamic in any way. Just good at everything.

I like Bouchard he's just my 4th choice D. Still in my top 10.

He is an offensive dynamo, guys cant get around him, he is never out of position, dale hunter says he has never seen a better dman in a long time.

Bouchard is almost a full year older then Boqvist.

Boqvist is probably a year or two away from the NHL but if he is going to come close to Karlsson. Worth the wait.

- manvanfan

Age is overated. Bouchard has been a stud for years. No weaknesses as far as I can tell and good size as an added bonus

I don't see anyone else other then Pronman with that kind of thinking. Even Pronman has Bouchard down at 26
- manvanfan

We shall see. I bet Bouchard lands in the top 5 or 6. Pronman is useless.

Lebrun >> people here who want to trade Tanev for a 1st
- Nucker101

A 1st would be great but a dman that can actually play over 70/games per season and can get 30 pts would be nice too.

Like I mentioned before Tanev should be placed in a glass case that reads...'break in the event of the WHC'.

Who? I have no idea what you are saying but yes, I believe Bouchard will be the better player. Hence, why he would be my choice between the two

I wasn't insinuating anything just asking questions. He had a really good season last year and has improved on it this year. I don't see him cracking into the top 5 in anyones draft. He literally has the most points of any first year draft eligible player. So why not a top 5 guy?

Hunter said the same thing about Juolevi when he was here for Mem.Cup a few years back.

Like I said I would take him 2nd overall, we need a guy like him.

He very well may be. I wouldn't complain if they both were here on D.

He has been rising, I thought I saw him as 5 for one of the rankings, perhaps ISS.

I think one of the knocks on him, is he gets a poop tonne of icetime on a poorer London team so hard to say if he would do as well if there were other guys to soak up some minutes.

He has a hell of a shot, way better than Juolevi but I can understand the "safe" pick comparison.

I'll be ecstatic if we end up with either of Bouchard or Boqvist if we miss out on Dahlin.

Not contradicting myself. You said he's been a stud for years. So why is he not rated higher? He's having a fabulous year.

Ranked #15 by Hockeyprospect.com
Ranked #6 by ISS Hockey
Ranked #10 by Future Considerations
Ranked #7 by McKeen's Hockey
Ranked #5 by NHL Central Scouting (NA Skaters)

These are the rankings on Elite.

I never said he wasn't going to be a good player someday in the NHL. As I said I have him as the 4th best D.

You have him as number 2 ahead of Boqvist. With numbers that he's putting up and the talk about how great he is.

Why do you think others have him further down?

Carol’s Benning poll results were interesting in her last blog.

Also interesting:

Back in the summer of 2011, right after the Oilers had finished last in the league two years in a row, Edmonton Journal asked the Oilers fanbase what they thought of Steve Tambellini.

79% of fans voted "He's proving he's a strong GM."

Hopefully our fanbase is smarter than Edmonton’s and is right about Benning

I’m not sure why he doesn’t get more love. He is a huge riser though just like Makar last year. I think he climbs into the top 5 or 6 in the draft. I realize he isn’t there yet. We shall see in June!
