I know he's got loads of skill but at 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds I'm not sure that's the kind of dman that could reach their full potential on a team like the canucks.

Erik Karlsson is an inch taller and was probably the same weight when he came into the league. Boqvist isn't 18 until August. I think he has a lot of skill and can score goals from the blue line with pace. Van can make it work.

Anyone on the roster aside from Bo & BB should be available for trade.

Need leadership/teachers? Sign them in the off season cheap or trade for them.

I really hope JB's posturing right now.

I meant in the context of if VAN only offered to start his contract in the fall, Gaudette would have to chose between taking the deal for a full season salary or returning to school. If he signed for the remainder of this year, it would be pro-rated

Only thing i'm annoyed at right now is TG playing Boeser and Horvat so much. Meaningful games are over. It's time to allow JV and Goldy to make some mistakes. Allow the leash to loosen a bit. I'm not talking allowing them to learn bad habits but to allow them to make a mistake and learn from it without sitting for the next 10 minutes.
- manvanfan

Brock and Horvat can still get better....they should be getting played a tonne in all situations IMO.

Travis Green has no time for analytical statistics on players, or point totals, or stats in general.

He gauges players strictly on the bags under their eyes lol

Ok, but when will they make it work. You think a dman like that will be ready for the show when? 3-4 years away if canucks draft him?

I like Boqvist but have Bouchard above him now as he has a better all round game as well as gaudy offensive stats.

I just really hope they find a kid who can hammer the puck from the blueline

I think the deal would have to include a top prospect, that would seal it. I would honestly trade Tanev though for a late 1st (17 to 31) and a top prospect.

- Codes1087

Agreed, time to move on. He is made of plastic and his value is pretty high right now.

Tanev has always been a " only at the right price " guy for me.

It certainly sounds like there is some interest in him this year though.

Best to assume all players will take 3 years post draft.

If we don't get 1oa, package tanev and our first for dahlin but I don't think anyone trades dahlin.

Bouchard is almost a full year older then Boqvist.

Boqvist is probably a year or two away from the NHL but if he is going to come close to Karlsson. Worth the wait.

Ya agree. As much as JV and Goldy need ice time the message needs to be sent that this is Bo and Brock's team for right now. When Gaudette, Demko, Pettersson and few others get here they need to be looking up to Brock/Bo...not the Sedins Edler or Tanev.

That's true and I do think birthdate can be significant but still lean towards Bouchard at this point.

Karlsson is going to be had to replicate by Dahlin let alone Boqvist.

Rick Dhaliwal

"I have heard that the Canucks have asked Arizona about Max Domi and Tobias Reider. Making the call is easy, but striking a deal is not, as the asking price is very high"

- Codes1087

why do we want another 3rd line winger?

At least Domi has shown in the past that he be a good 2nd liner.

And the asking price is high for these guys?

I don't see anyone else other then Pronman with that kind of thinking. Even Pronman has Bouchard down at 26

This guy seems alright, hope that's not where we pick though, according to Bob's ranking. It does make a case for acquiring another 1st if possible though.

More Lebrun:

I would have to think that Tanev is worth at least a 1st round pick and a top prospect. I am being told that tons of teams have called on him. Vancouver has told those teams that they are not currently interested in moving him

TSN Insider Trading: Pierre LeBrun: The Oilers could get a low first-round pick for Patrick Maroon.

If Maroon is worth a low first. He plays with McDavid and has 29 points.

Pierre LeBrun: A Thomas Vanek trade will likely have to wait until the likes of Evander Kane, Rick Nash, Michael Grabner and Patrick Maroon are moved. Contract talks between the Canucks and Erik Gudbranson are underway and they will get more serious in the next week or so. The Canucks priority is to re-sign him. If they can’t re-sign him, teams will make offers.
