Any time someone says "dollars to donuts", you either punch someone in the arm or take a bong hit...you choose.

This is a good one. How about when Russ says "here's the thing"? That's worth a swig.

Listening to Mike In Buffalo's Buzzcast. Already had to take a pull off the Bulleit for him saying "back in the day". Any other suggestions for making this BCast into a drinking game?

Kane > Nash

Kane has produced more this year even with the slump included
Both UFA
Nash carries a higher cap hit
Nash has a NTC I believe

Well, I have been arguing that point for weeks while others have said he is still the best player available dispute his diminished role and poor performance. I fully agree with TSN assessment. We needed to strike when he really was the only good player available. Now too many teams are tanking and want a crack at a couple first round picks in the years draft.

F&ck the Sens twice. Sam 1 goal 2 helpers. ROR stays hot. Rodriguez gets 1 and 1.

You havent been alone with that train of thought. I was just talking about this yesterday. If botts fumbles the ball this trade deadline i wonder if the "in botts we trust" sentiment will still hold water. If it comes out that he turned down a far better offer a few weeks ago and he ends up with a lesser return i would consider it a dropping the ball right before crossing the goal line with no defenders in sight type of fumble.

Rick Nash - played in playoffs before
Kane - Has not

Salary means nothing right now in terms of cap hit. both are UFA's

I wouldnt be surprised to see Nahs get equal to, or more value than Kane

I'm sure Botts has spoken to all of the 30 other gm's. I'm sure players/picks/prospects etc have been discussed by the ones interested. The fact is, no one outside of these organizations know exactly what or who was discussed. For any of us to say he "overplayed his hand", "bobbled the ball", "waited too long" (really? One major trade has occurred), etc is just speculation.

Of course its all speculation. Theres more to the deadline than just kane as well. What if he doesnt trade pouliot or re sign him and lets him walk in fa? What if he doesnt take say a 4th for georges and lets him walk a la gmtm with kulikov and franson last year? Everything is speculatory now, it will most likely come to light later on. I really do hope none of this happens.

There is no way to prove or disprove weather or not there were legitimate offer(s) on the table for Kane. I just find it very hard to believe there were not. I hope there were not and the current situation is just the product of a lack of real offers but again, we will probably never know unless he gets fired
