Reinhart was absolutely brutal on the Sen's last 2 goals. He needs a lot of work defensively. What's that guy's deal? I wouldn't mind seeing him go. He's way too inconsistent, and although he's playing way better recently, he still loses most one-on-one battles, cannot deke nor skate around anybody, and I still don't think he's ever actually beaten a goalie with a shot. He's good in front of the net but his all around game is suspect at best.
- Khmylev

In his defense, he was never sold as a skilled skater nor deker.
His passing is sweet and his net front presence is very strong. He’s a set-up man 5v5 and needs other players to carry the mail with him through the neutral zone and O-zone entries...then he can go to work.

That said, I remain committed to sell high, it took 55 games o get here, don’t go soft now..sell, sell, sell!

So he gets zero credit for first 55 minutes...he kept them in it..I was actually stunned by more than one stop on odd man rushes during that time.
He had no chance on the OT winner. I didn’t see the 1st goal.
I think trying to hang this on Lehner is akin to mocking Scott Wilson.

It's time to pull some triggers on deals if they're there. I fear we have another Darcy on our hands.
Get Kane gone already before he gets hurt.

Is it alarming that Dahlin has been a healthy scratch for the 1st two Olympic Games?

This was a topic with Rivet and Peter's yesterday on the radio. They were saying that it looks like the coaches just want to go with a more veteran defense over a 19 year old. That the decision has nothing to do with Dahlin's play.

He's 17. Totally understandable that he isn't getting the minutes.

I would probably play him because he could make more of a difference than his inevitable mistakes.

But I'm not a coach.

They did the same thing in either the last WJC when he was 16. Saw almost no ice time until the third period of one of the medal games.

Perfect night for the Sabres.
Played a competitive game
Lost the 4 pointer, could be very valuable at seasons end
Future 4th liners ERod and Scott (frank)ing Wilson scored...we just need Josefson to come back and net some...Could be a nice line next year.
Coyotes won.

Only disappointment was the Oil losing.

Come on Botts, Team did what it needed to...Jack did what was needed, now hold up your end and get some of these players out of here...solidify the stealthy tank..deal ROR (kidding actually) , Kaner, and I wouldn’t mind selling high on Reinhart....playing well for last 15 games after taking a 3 month vacation early on...not my kinda player.

Edit: while it could have been a 4 point swing, it was only 1

- IonSabres

I totally agree here. While seeing the team playing better is very exciting, we don't want to do anything crazy. We need a top 3 pick in this draft and we need to unload most of our older players. 2019 draft not looking nearly as strong.
We had a little burst a couple years ago and all that got us was Nylander instead of possibly Laine or Matthews

Random idea: Every NHL team should be allowed to designate 1 player as it's franchise player. Meaning that players salary would only count 60% against the cap in order not to handicap that team from being able to build a winner around said player. Thoughts?

Cool idea.

I'm hoping some day that the cap and the floor are far enough apart to where having an owner who is willing to spend money will be an advantage again. Most owners now are willing to spend at least 90% of the cap. If that ever drops to 80%, it would be huge for the Sabres with Pegula.

Your Wing Chun may be strong, but it's no match for the idiocy of the Lehner haters out there.

He's an average starting goaltender. He isn't bottom of the barrel, but isn't Lundy either. He played a great game yesterday, too bad he gets ridiculed for every loss without fail. I mean really, I wonder, if we had Dominator in his prime, would this team even be in the playoffs? I doubt it.
