Hadn't even thought about Kari, to be honest. Not sure the Stars would want to put all their eggs in the basket of Bishop being healthy and on top of his game for the duration of the stretch and playoffs. There have been a few times Hitch has given Lehtonen more than a spot start here and there although its' about a 2-to-1 ratio in terms of starts and more than that the last few months.

But Lehtonen won't be back with the Stars next season (after a long run in Dallas) and I suppose it is possible that he could be moved. Thing is, the Stars' pre-deadline outlook is to possibly add a piece for the stretch and playoffs, not sell a piece for a draft pick or prospect.

That's a long-winded way of saying I don't think there's a fit.

An Elliott for Howard swap would get the Flyers a healthy starter, and give the Redwings some cap relief this year and next.

This gives Ottawa cap and salary savings moving forward. Neuvirth is cheaper then Anderson and Filppula comes off the books after this year.

In Oduya you get a depth defensman with playoff experience where maybe Manning moves to your number 7. Anderson has some term left on his deal so next year you still can have a platoon of Elliott and Anderson with Hart in Lehigh. In 19-20 Elliott is gone and then you can split starts with Anderson and Hart.

I think it make sense.

a) -28 in the 1st period
a) 27th best PK
b) 25th in goals scored at 5 on 5

It's hard to envision playoff success for a team that starts games poorly more often than not, has a terrible PK, and struggles to score goals during the most common phase of play.

Honest question, how much do you put that on Hak? I do think the PK is a coaching staff issue, but the goal differential and 5 on 5 scoring is at least partly personnel.

I don't think there is really any great solution for the goalie. In what I suggest I like also getting a depth defenseman with playoff experience. Also you don't need to give away too much.
