It's not that I don't think they competed hard, but if it weren't for Zucc getting into it with Ladd, then Nelson, then Cziskas u wouldn't know they gave a damn. The energy level of the Isles wasn't matched.
- nyrangers9479

They had 50 shots, Many from high danger spots. This team isn't made up of energy guys or ones in your face, especially with Kreider. How well has it worked out having a player like McLeod, who is supposed to that, in the lineup?

Yeah but same thing last game with turnovers and countless other games if it's not an effort or heart problem then it's definitely a hockey IQ problem cause some of these turnovers and mistakes in own end are mind blowing.
- dman78

It's a combination. But because they didn't score, whole game changed. The second goal was the killer, third one was nail in the coffin.

I’m not denying that this team lacks the necessary energy. They haven’t shown it all year. But, right now they are effectively playing with the Hartford defense so it’s hard to expect much. Just using this as a time to get a look at some guys to be honest.

Do u give him credit for Zib?
We could have gotten more for Stepan if we traded him during the season. Teams knew we wanted to dump his 6.5 before the NTC kicked in. 7th overall and a prospect wasn't terrible, but I would've traded him in season to get more for him.

- nyrangers9479

We were in the playoffs, I don't fault him for not trading Stepan at the deadline and shaking up the room.

That Hartford defense hasn't been bad, brought some energy and life and puck movement. When you don't score, you like like you have no energy. I would like an agitator. Find me a Matthew Tkachuk type. When CK20 comes back, expect him to be engaged from the moment he hits the ice.

And they should have been in the damn Comference Final again if they didn’t choke.

I feel that way about Zib. Sometimes he’s real good. Sometimes he’s invisible. In the end, I think an ideal top end second line center.
- Pete V

He's most noticable when he shoots, like last game he was on. Anyone notice Grabs tonight? Well, any Ranger, really?

Who? Other than not showing up to defend his new team mates and getting his ass kicked in 2 fights, what has he done?
Rather have Glass back, at least he could play hockey.

Had the Isles feed and Butch brought up a valid point that the new D and Hank don't have any chemistry yet since they haven't played together very long, and are still figuring out what to expect from each other.
Tough situation, but I think the new D have done a pretty good job so far.

McLeod is a plug that used to be able to fight but now can’t even do that. It’s a team concept of sticking up for each other that just isn’t there with this team under AV. I remember in AV’s first year when these guys still had that mentality from Torts Chris Neil ran Staal. A line scrum ensued started by Pouliot followed by Zucc Brass Staal and Stralman. Who’s the fighter in that group? No one. It’s about standing up for each other and showing u care. Fast foward 4 years under AV Staal gets ran, nothing. Vesey gets elbowed and concussed, nothing. Oo, next shift Skjei fights Johansen. Whoever was on the ice should have jumped Forsberg and Emelin.

hopefully after deadline if Grabs and Nash and others are traded we can bring up Chytil who's looking good in Hartford Anderson and others and let them play only problem is AV will have Fast Desharnais and Mcleod playing top line min.

I hate how good Matt Barzal is. If they keep him and Tavares that is a great 1-2 punch for years

Actually, I’ve felt the team looks much better on defense recently. Sure, the kids lack experience, but I have not seen the glaring mistakes I was seeing with the “1st string” defense.

Norway just scored vs the Finns. The dirtiest of goals to make it 1-0. A huge fight in front of the Finns goal. Never saw a Rangers goal like that this season...
Probably gonna be 4-1, 4-2 Finns.
