It's a bit different though, Toronto is a contender and only a contender would trade for a rental so why sell off a rental to another contender and help them? - KreiderBomb
Your right, but their cupboards is loaded.... If LL doesn't think this is their year, he may sell off and their team wont miss a beat. |

I think anytime you have a real good hockey team, the GM has to worry about the message he sends his team by the personnel moves he makes. You trade for someone at the deadline, you are sending a message to your team that we believe in you and go f'ing win. You trade off a real good player for assets at the deadline, you might as well tell your team that, yeah, we don't think this is the year for you guys.

The opposing team's goalie probably never showed up for your game, and played it with 6 skaters and an empty net for its entirety.
You're lucky I wasn't their goalie, since you would still likely have only 7 total points for the entire season. That's unless your opposition was this year's Rangers allowing 80 shots on goal that game in your non checking recreational league, with A.V. of course coaching them. You may have tallied just 1 or 2 points then. - RangerSaver

Or, you would have let in 6 goals while you were explaining to me what I did wrong in my approach down the ice.
We have a true mix of goalies in our league. That guy definitely had a tough night, and we won 8-0. Last night we were all over our opposition and won 2-1.
35 and over league with a handful of guys in their 60's.
Good bunch of guys for the most part. Cool thing is that we play in the Niagara Ice Dogs' (OHL) arena. Nice facility. |

I don't even see JVR listed on any of the Trade bait Boards, is Toronto gonna keep him for a playoff run? seems like a big risk to lose a player like that for nada - Liamano
The word last week was that the Leafs feel he will contribute his share in some kind of postseason run for them, and want to retain him, despite him becoming a UFA this summer. But they also said that could change if a "can't refuse" offer for him alone, or as part of a larger deal is presented their way. |

Coming to Tony's defense here.. you need to back off.
Also who are you to make fun of a goalie with a seeing eye dog who can't bring it onto the ice with him.

JVR is basically a vet on that team too. |

Among the favourites, anyway. I don't know, I think this Olympics they just sent the best looking Skip!
We got the new medal, though! The mixed pairs curling! I like that it moves way faster than the traditional game. |

This Management is starting to piss me off....
They post that memo and then they do nothing.
All that has done is led us to speculation and now that we have gone through every trade itiration there is nothing left to talk about and they have completely killed this blog because there is nothing left to talk about as we sit and wait.
Thanks for nothing! |

I was only teasing you there, Tony.
I would fit right in there during my younger league playing days of over 15 years ago plus, which date back to the 1970's. My free time now doesn't allow me to commit to their varying days & starting times per week schedule. So I only play pickup hockey goal either two, or sometimes still even three set nights every week. That's among mostly 20 to 40 year olds, with a few being up to 60 years old as well, which is closer to my age than the 40, despite still maintaining age 30 shape and reflexes.
My game improved with age and the improved protective equipment than that of up to Richter's days, especially in the leg pads when dropping down aggressively into the butterfly position. So I have great confidence that Hank will last fine through age 40 at the least in some later playing means then. |

I think you genuinely try to post intelligent stuff but it’s very difficult to follow when every post is half a page long |
