How many games is andersen actually on pace to play?

68. That's not that crazy for a number 1 goalie.

Call me crazy, but I'm of the belief that any top NHL goalie can play every game of the season, other than the back-to-backs.

Hockey's a funny sport - so tied to tradition.

Goalies split games because goalies have split games for 50 years - ignoring the fact that the fitness of goalies is completely different than what it was 50 years ago.

And if you think I'm crazy on this, go to the warmup of any NHL game - take a look at the players on the ice, doing static stretches to warm up their groins. Sports science has proven conclusively that static stretching inhibits performance - but lo and behold, there are all the guys, still doing their static stretching - because that's how it has always been done.

We played Polak a lot last night because Gardiner got hurt. Columbus only had 2 power play chances and Polak still played close to 21 minutes

Static in combination with a dynamic warm-up, which they do, is effective.
