I don’t know if you remember in last 2-3 years when Eric Staal was with Carolina Hurricanes he came into air Canada Center and towards end of game took a slap shot on purpose towards Dion Phaneuf standing in front of empty net.

I understand the appeal of an Eric Staal on an affordable deal. But Minnesota is in no-mans land right now... of their high priced contracts are for older guys... who are well past their primes, their up and coming talent is not elite or at least hasn't emerged as of yet.

I would guess that Minny might make a decision at the trade deadline, but I can't seem them unloading a guy who's overachieving with them being as committed to their core as they must be given the contracts. Staal would simply cost way too much.

Lou won't be pressured into making a deal.. I think they should look for a depth C more than a D-man right now, but, if there is no deal made, its gonna be ok..
