you are just completely incapable of having an intelligent discussion about AV's tenure here

He took Tort's team to the Cup, since then he's molded the roster into what he wanted and have gone backwards since, honestly I don't how he gets any defense

No, I'd say this point is entirely valid.
AV can surely be blamed for last year's loss to OTT. So, can blame not be pointed at the same person for the same error? Not saying I would even agree, just that the logic would dictate that it's possible.

Name one player who's become a star under AV, a real bonefide star cause picking out singular decent players like Zucc is ridiculous to the argument, Zucc's Ranger career took off when they brought him back from Russia

I think AV has a horrible series vs Ottawa, and has had a bad year this year, though some of the criticism this year has been exaggerated

Zucc took off when his role wasn't to just block shots, or maybe you forget him breaking his wrist blocking a shot under Torts demands

Sauer was quickly becoming one of my favorite RANGERs. He was like Girardi but more physical. Shame he only got 100 games or so.

Or a team that he took over and molded into the current one we have that isn’t going to make the playoffs

I think you have to admit, he walked into a team that was put together very well but the results have been deteriorating year after year. My opinion is it is on the coach to get them to win. He cant get the credit when they win but be exempt if they lose.
So if he was a good coach for getting them to the finals and then to the conference championship the next year, then he has to own the last three years as well.

I would say AV had more success with the Rangers than Torts did with Vancouver

I don't think anyone was beating the Penguins in 2016 no matter how the coaching was, and I am sure he would have rather have had Hagelin on his team than playing against him

last year, yeah, awful job vs Ottawa, his worst moments as NYR coach for sure

It seems like every coach we have here, by the end of their tenure, there is this all or nothing approach that they were either good or they sucked.

Why can't it just be that a coach is a good (or even great) coach whose time has run its course with a franchise.

I thought Tom Renney did a good job for the franchise and led them out of the dark years. I thought it was time for the Rangers to move on when they did.

I thought Torts was a good coach who built on what Renney did, and was responsible for the Ranger taking another step. I thought it was time for the Rangers to move on when they did,

And I think AV is a good coach who has built on what the guys before him did and got the Rangers really damn close to the promised land. I think its time that the Rangers move on from him.

Sometimes good coaches just come with expirations dates and its time to move on to someone else. In fact, very few don't come with expirations dates.

It is kind of a dumb argument every coach usually brings good things and bad things. Except Trottier, he plain sucked.

Very well stated. I would only add as an example to your point recent coaching changes on other NY based teams: Coughlin with the Giants and Girardi with the Yanks. Both coaches were EXCELLENT and yet their expiration date came and they had to go. Its not just hockey coaches...
