AV is a good coach. Every coach wears out their welcome and has shelf life. His is over now. He has to update his defensive system as it has been figured out and doest not work anymore. That being said, a veteran team on the cusp of contending will sign him..

Only coach this does not apply to is Bill Belechick

I agree that blaming AV with a blanket statement is wrong. But, it would be just as wrong to say that he can't shoulder some of the blame for how badly the season has gone. And part of that is how he coaches the players. I am not one to say he has no upside as a coach, but I think we should all be able to agree that his time here is done.
And I feel it is also bullpoop to say the GM didn't provide him with players to fit his system. You're an NHL level coach, you provide a system to fit what you've got. You don't sit on your hands wishing for different personnel.

AV was the perfect coach to take over for Torts. However his "letting the players police themselves" only works long term of there are players in the room that have fire and command of their teammates.

I was really down on AV because of Shattenkirk, Shatty never once in his career had a season as bad as he was having, especially with giveaways, but, AV is off the hook for Shatty once I learned he was playing hurt all year long.

And, Shatty playing hurt was a team wide decision, not solely on AV

Instead he went to Tampa and thrived even further under a different coach. Stralman was and is a good player, had nothing to do with AV.
