Since it seems like there's a lot of goalie talk today, I saw Bryz at Whole Foods this morning. Want me to ask him if he's in game shape?

If you have to ask - he's not...

If they are trading for a guy like Anderson, Elliott is probably going to Ottawa as part of the deal. They’ll roll with Anderson/Neuvirth this year and next and hopefully Anderson/Hart in 19-20. If they do that in 19-20, the combined cap hit with Hart in an ELC, should only be a few hundred K more than it is now.

I don't believe you can trade a player when he's injured, so that would rule out elliott being part of any deal given when the TDL is wrt to his return timetable.

I think you can but the other team needs to sign off on it.

Otherwise how did we ever trade Pronger to AZ?

Neuvirth has to be better. His rebound control or lack thereof was bad all night long. Flyers needed to simplify their attack last night in the 3rd. Shooting pucks and driving the net instead of all that cross-ice perfect play nonsense. Look at how NJ tied up the game. Those types of plays. Also stop trying to draw a call. Last night was a playoff game essentially - battle through it. Jake needs to man the F up.

At least at the time he was arguably a top 5 player.

ROR isn't even a top 30

- MBFlyerfan

Yeah I mean I meant more provorov Patrick and a 1st for eichel but yeah what did they even trade for ROR? Ror and mcginn for a descent young d man a prospect and 2nd rounder ?

Don't think Hextall would even consider it anyway. Elliott has completely met expectations at a good cost. Andersen is a risky contract at his age considering his struggles this year.

Yeah, it is the same as a trade pending a physical. The other team will know what they're getting or else they won't do it. Pronger was a $$$ trade, but Evander Kane to Buffalo was actually one where he was injured but was definitely playing again next season

Yeah at that point there is no reason to make a trade. The idea of the trade is to get a better backup, not replace the starter

Neuvirth for sure. Elliott has always been pretty durable

...up until he was forced to play so much

lol, so he's good to go unless you use him

He was wearing a baggy shirt. He could have abs of steel under there.

Just get someone to fill in as backup for the remainder of the season. It won't cost a lot.

Then re-assess the entire goaltending situation this off-season. I'd think long and hard about waiving Neuvirth and signing someone a little more reliable to tandem with Elliott.

Anybody really think hexy will trade one of our 2018 1st rounders? I really want them to go into the draft with two 1st rounders, and then let things shake out.

Also that second 1st rounder makes the Schenn trade bearable... and if he packages it for some deal involving kane and a goalie, or ROR, I'll be bummed.

Not sure, I thought you could if the other team was ok with it. If not, how did the Flyers trade Pronger?

I think the chances of him trading the 1st rounder at the trade deadline are around the same as Edmonton making the playoffs

Elliott has been good value for money, (especially compared to Mason who is out with his second concussion of 17-18) but I think it's funny how the media goes pretty hard after Neuvirth for getting injured multiple times this season and having some bad starts like Elliott hasn't also been guilty of that.

I liked the deal at the time. Given that Schenn's irreplaceable production has been easly replaced, I love the deal.

Elliott will most likely miss more time this season thru injury than Neuvirth and finish with a lower SV%.
