yes, i understand that but the Sens (hard to believe I know) are actually pretty damn close to the cap ceiling right now, even after the trade...giving raises to Karlsson, Stone & Duchene will require not only salary but cap space as well...
At least the burrows, oduya contracts will be done by then...
Trading another contract will be necessary IF they want to keep Karlsson, Stone, Duchene, Hoffman, Brassard...

Duchene wanted out of Colorado because he was sick of missing the playoffs and playing on a losing team. He was upset he was losing his prime years without any serious runs for the cup. Why do some people assume its up to the Sens whether Duchene comes back or not? Unless the sens make a major turn around by next year, i cant see why Duchene would stay aside from a massive overpayment. It would be pretty ugly if the sens hand over their first at the draft next year and Duchene walks a few days/weeks later as a ufa.
