So was mcdavid. Guys definitely can't be judged %100 by their rating. But it's a guide .

I could see a team still wanting Nylander.
Trade for one of their underachivers.

Domi for Nylander

- Boss34

Oh absolutely. I still believe his value is high despite his struggles.

There were roomerz weeks if not months ago that Nash, Maroon and Hoffman were going to be available, amongst LWs. I trust that Botts did not see an overwhelming 'need to trade him right this second' deal that blew his pants off. If it wasn't the case, which I would trust it wasn't, there may be a bidding war and the bids may be tight. Also, there may be picks being negotiated. You hear all the time how complicated those can be, and how "we've been working on a deal like this for months". Also.....

No one of significance has been traded yet.

I agree, and with kanes injury potential (all players) i think jbotts would have jumped at a good offer.

I just hope the board isn't going to kill jbotts if he settles for less than expected. Especially with the rumors around here.

2 (1'st) rounders???
Teams meeting what he asked now, and he raised the price????

I'm on board with the thinking we should keep Reinhart.

Ya those two had some magic at the world jrs a few years back. Too bad we didn’t get Duclair before chitown did.

Duclair Seems to have potential but I wasn't thrilled with trying to get him however, why not it can't hurt.

Carlson will be looking for 7, might to be to much for Botts as of now.
- SABRES 89

That would push them up against the cap, for a team that shouldn't contend for the playoffs. All signs point to another transition/development year next year.

Flip side is, contending teams will be lining up for him too.

Seems the Caps can afford to keep Carlson I think, they can always buy out the last year of Orpik and even if they didn't, looks like they can keep Carlson.

Personally I'd love to see a top prospect for Kane, if that were even possible, instead of a 1st. But unless the trade is highway robbery, you know people will complain, and there will be several "they laughed when I said" 's being said.

I've heard a little of what Botterill's plan is and as of now, it doesn't include anymore high end deals........for now.

Currently I'm with keeping sam:

I'm going to the game tonight and hoping he can function/ step up without jack.

Jack's 2 injuries are freak, but what if we suddenly put it together next year and he gets hurt again?

We need to know what sams plateau is. can he carry the team , its a good time to find out, befire this coontract

I saw that too, it's a joke... He wouldn't even make my top 200. the alleged snipshow has 9 points...if that is the 25th rated prospect outside of the NHL, the NHL is in big trouble.

I hope part 1 of that plan is making this defense NHL level.

If they can get rid of Bogo's salary then maybe things could change

I think Ror to Phili is real.

They have a bunch of good young defenseman.
They are a bubble team, he could put them in a playoff spot.

Still makes the most sense with nj or Pitt being the likely trade partners. Jbotts connections

it can be easily bought out this year. But then you have to figure out how to replace half the parts AND find a top pairing guy. But yeah, you can at least free up some cap space.

That doesn't feel like it's remotely possible this summer.

Bogo and top pairing guy in the same paragraph?

Uncomfortable to read

Filpula and Provorov for ROR. As the base of the deal. That'd be mega. But you also don't know what you have in CM yet. That's a huge risk.

You can't buyout an injured player. They're stuck.
