Not gonna work with the flames.
A) They got Rittich and injury to smith doesnt seem serious.
B) Calgary won't trade Bennett.
C) They don't have a 2018 1st.

Will Borgen will never be a Sabre. He will finish school and become a FA. Whenever a reporter mentions Buffalo to him, he always changes the subject. Unfortunate for the Sabres but true.
- mikes1519

possible...

do you have a vid or two (or audio) you could share with us about him changing the subject?

be interesting to hear and/or see

Hi interview from dev camp really had me worried. Maybe im just paranoid but he didnt really entertain the idea when he was asked about turning pro. Also mentioned finishing school being important.

Ullmark in net as well, with a possibility of Mittelstadt up front

Cj Smith is injured and in a boot and crutches. So that why they called up that Danforth scrub
- MCGUIZZY

That's no good.... But I wouldn't call him a scrub. 58 points in 44 games

I just can't go there.

3 times more likely we get the 5th pick than #1
If Borgen signs, he's not going to start in the NHL next year
There's no chance on Carlson, makes no sense for him or Buffalo

I think there's a shot at Daniel Brickley, or another College FA, after their college season ends.

Its a pipe dream scenario. But disagree on Carlson. (price aside) Def makes sense for us. Doubt he comes though. Although he would have a chance to be the man here/get alot of playing time.

All I can say is as soon as someone pops on one of the rentals before Kane, we will be lucky to get a first rounder for him. Might have to live with a second and B level prospect. If we don't strike in the next few days we are screwed

IF Carlson makes it to the open market, there's no reason the sabres shouldn't poop gold on his doorstep.

He absolutely has opportunity here, and Christ, do they need him.

Botts may have overplayed his hand on this one. I have always remained at either a 1st and a ok player/prospect or a 2nd and a better prospect.

you mean other than the fact that by the time we're good Carlson won't be?

Free agency isn't where you build, period. Only after everything's come together and you're on the cusp of cup contender status do you consider signing guys in FA who will command 7 years but will really only be good for 2 of them.

I like the player, but JB isn't going make any big $ long term deals this summer. It just doesn't make sense right now.

Lot of guesswork here. If you don't know the market, you or I or anyone here has no (frank)ing clue what will happen. No idea what GM's covet, how he fits onto their teams, and how many GMs are in a bidding war for his services.

Botts is obviously a pretty fart smella. I believe he's still settling the market. I think if it were flat, he'd have sold him weeks ago for an underwhelming price.

I think you absolutely give Carlson a big money deal. Here's a guy that's twice the dman Shats is. I'd bet my foot Botts would be interested in Carlson for 7M AVV range. I think he's the only guy, I personally, would throw gold bricks at.

What has caused kane's perceived drop in value?
