It was a lot more then a Gallagher issue why they traded him. There was multiple players involved in this and some of the upper tier. Gallagher going off the other night brought it to the surface. I dont think he says those things if its not something he talked about with teammates about subban in the past.

Brandon Smillie: Trade Talk Heating Up + Danault Returns... Maybe - Brandon Smillie
No way brassard or nash brings back that haul. You might get a late 1st round pick and a B prospect. No way a 1st and top tier prospect plus more. Patches is certainly worth as much as these guys with a good contract next year. Only negative is patches as yet to show up for a playoffs. Consistent regular season player but no game when it counts most. That doesnt mean he can't do it of course.
Best case scenario I think for Patches down to the wire is a late 1st round pick, solid B tier prospect and a third round pick or depth roster player. But who knows sometimes GM's can get a little crazy and they might get that 2nd round pick instead of the 3rd.
My guess he goes no where as Bergevin doesnt get the return that fans are building up for him in return. Same thing happened with Galchenyuk I feel as I remember when people were suggesting they should get duchene and barrie back in the deal from the avs for him!
I think the only deal you see is plekanec for a third round pick or a 2nd round pick and a short term bad contract in return. |

imagine a #1G making 750k... the cap space they would have to spend on the roster.
if they find a way to spend it that is - fidopro
His numbers with Laval are not good. He may be the next Montaya and that's it.
I'm not against spending cheap on a good goalie, but you forget the good in that theory.
The cap wasn't the problem this year. They had space.
Just like Subban was traded for a defenseman, something I said would happen if the guy was traded, you need a goalie coming back in a Price trade. If they trade him now, which is unlikely anyway. |

yes but the reason the cap wasn't the problem is because this team doesn't have a lot of good hockey players. eventually, if you hope to be good, you'll have good players and then that $10.5 million anchor in net becomes a problem. fortunately as long as Marc Bergevin is the GM here that's not likely to be an issue |

Nobody will get traded. Bergevin will pick up some 4th line plug on waivers and that will be it. |
