I was always a fan of Chris Benoit.
Still am.
He lived up to his name. |

Most people were stating that Hedman had similar numbers in his early years to Larsson, but in the end, most were reluctant to even call Larsson an Hedman type of player or associate anything with him at the time. |

I definitely recall you saying Larsson could find his offensive game and see a Hedman-like rise. You or someone with a very similar name and the same propensity for long posts. - MaximumBone
Yeah, nope, I didn't make any claims that Larsson could see Hedman type rises. It was other posters.
I did say that he could become a Josi/Ap type of player (this was two years ago, so keep that in mind with regards to player development).
Offense wise (without drawing parallels to Hedman), I did state that he could crack the 30 point barrier or in other words, find his offensive game in Edmonton. But this hasn't been the case so far (Could be a coaching problem as you mentioned in a prior post that I pinpointed). |

Fair enough. You've proven yourself innocent enough as I reckon no one is gonna go fact check later posts that summer. |

But, as evidenced by the stats I posted, the pairing contributing more to winning than they did to losing; more so than any other pairing (excl. statistically insignificant pairings) we've played this season.
And 431 5-on-5 minutes is like 25 to 30 games worth. - MaximumBone
Our entire team was posting positive corsi numbers despite us losing during most of the season. So no your numbers don’t prove anything. |

You did say you believed he was a bonafide top 2 stud defender...which he isn’t. |

So far, he has shown that he is capable of playing top 2 minutes. You can make the case saying that he is/was carried by Klefbom, but that can be countered as well.
As for being a top 2 stud (different from capable of playing top 2 minutes), which includes (by my definition of a top 2 stud) that he should also be able to provide a solid amount of offense or at least be involved on a regular basis, looks like that hasn't been the case so far (he was making strides during the playoffs and early on this season [even if you don't agree, yet others do], but not enough to consist as on a consistent basis).
However, until he is given PP time or at least a chance, and given more offensive responsibilities (as he was in NJ during Oates/Stevens) on a regular basis, I will stand by my opinion since we won't know for sure until he is given that chance.
Bone mentioned how McL might be involved with regards to systems used in a prior post, so there is that too.
Regardless, I think as an optimist, I just hope for the best. Either way, I think this will be something none of us will ever agree on. Even if it meant life and death. Hey, at least I didn't state that he would turn into a Hedman type of player. |

I'll take it you didn't notice the GF% numbers in there, too? Thus meaning they were converting on said possession.
