Me commenting on you dad is about as classy as you telling me how to do my job

If someone whistled at me I'd throw them out. Let's face it, if someone's whistling at you you're probably not going to get much of a tip, people who are that self absorbed rarely tip at all, let alone well, so you're just saving yourself some grief by tossing them.

Bandit is right about drinking what u like though
Just that 99% of Long Island drinkers are just looking to get hammered as quick as possible
And that mentality makes for a lot of douchebag behavior

Haha. 90% of my comment was to make light of the differences in American and Canadian drinkers. I went to D’youville in buffalo and we went out a lot to these neighbourhood bars where they have a dice game of some kind at the bar, and the bars were like neighbourhood pubs or cheers type places.
Only went to a couple of dance type clubs. The whole thing was just different.
And then I figure that the American bar business can make u real money, not like in Canada. You guys are allowed to have happy hour and specials and cheap beer whereas we can really do that in Ontario.
I always watch Bar Rescue and they always have to make these complicated drinks that weren’t really a big thing when I was on the scene like 20 years ago.
Maybe sex and the city popularized them or they are the female alternative to craft beer , you’ll have to ask the wet bandit about that.
The Craft beer scene is pretty played out in my opinion. But I’ve always had a taste for the finer and more unique things.

That show is kinda entertaining,
but anyone who actually works in the business will tell you what a crock of sh!t Taffer shovels
They go in...
-yell at the bar owner (to put on a show)
-tell them to clean the bar (no sh!t)
-tell the owner/employees to stop getting drunk on the job & not give away product (again, no sh!t)
-then train the staff for a few hours (not actually helpful, need more training than that if they’re actually as incompetent as the show makes it seem)
So all they really do for the business in the end is give it a decent remodel & rebrand the place
That’s great, bc it will initially help sales
But that doesn’t actually FIX the problems
They never really teach the owner how to manage
Or the employees how to be more efficient workers
Plus...
most of those bars are in so much debt,
they aren’t gonna be able to climb out of it
Best thing most can do...
sell the business after the remodel to try & recoup as much $$$ as possible
I haven’t checked the success stats of his “rescues” in a while...
but it’s a pretty terrible “save percentage”
