I don’t disagree.

But those guys, especially Kane, who he’s spent a lot of time with is a speedy, 2nd line winger.

I wish O’Reilly was 3 years younger. He’d fit our timeline better.

By the time we’re contending he’s going to be a broken down 30 year old.

They play him way too much

- sbroads24

Hard to argue. I really hope our timeline isn't 4 years though. I still think the prediction of RORs early demise are unfounded at this point, too

Mittelstadt at 3C
Then get a 4C who can win faceoffs & take some of the defensive load off him

Seems pretty reasonable to me
No?

I’d be surprised if any of them made the roster

Heck,
I think Mittelstadt might not even

Botts seems like he wants guys to play in the AHL

- jdfitz77

Agreed. Hoping Pu, Glotov and Mittelstadt can be brought into Roch at the end of the year once their season is over. Prob get a better idea of where they are at. I get the sense that Pu will be on the fast track tho along with Mittelstadt

He’s not suddenly terrible, he’s fine. He plays 6 less minutes a game than O’Reilly.

Ice time and opportunity matters

- sbroads24

not to jump too far into your convo, but Pominville has been pretty bad since that hot start...age has slowed him down considerably and he dumps the puck like it's a hot potato...been doing that for quite a while now...his $5+m cap hit is awful and he's signed for one more year...he and that salary is probably the reason the sabres didn't sign Gionta...

just my opinion

ROR is 26, right?
Ppl talking about him breaking down sounds premature to me

If he was 30 right now I’d be concerned

I thought his best game in a while was yesterday with 90.

But yes, age is catching up I agree

#Sabres Prospects goals per game:

Olofsson .56 (SHL)
Glotov .51 (QMJHL)
Pu .42 (OHL)

All three should be in Rochester next season. Possibly the big club

- MCGUIZZY

Glotov is a lot better than people tend to think, another great pick very late in the draft. Weisbach is one to watch, too.

If he's this slow when he's 26, he's going to be the 2nd coming of Larry Playfair when he's 30.

Early this morning (Feb. 12), Judas Priest announced via their Facebook page that guitarist Glenn Tipton won't be with the band on their upcoming tour, due to his struggle with Parkinson's disease. According to the statement, he was diagnosed with the early onset of Parkinson's ten years ago.

Idk about either

Mittelstadt isn’t tearing it up in the NCAA
He’s not even a ppg player

Connor for Winnipeg scored about 2ppg as a freshman & struggled mightily in his rookie year
Botts might think it’s best for Mittelstadt to spend time on the AHL

As for Pu...
I’d be extremely shocked if he makes the opening night roster
He’s on pace for LESS than the 86pts he had last year
That’s concerning
We should’ve seen him continue to spike to over 100pts in his final year in Juniors
His great season last year may have set expectations he can’t live up to

Olofsson might actually be the most “ready” prospect we have

Amen 3x on this. Crosby is still hands down the best player in the world. The young Pettawan in Edmonton has a lot to prove until you can Knight him with such prestige.

Is it bc he’s “breaking down”
or bc we’ve been severely overplaying him for 3yrs?

His speed (supposed lack there of) isn’t as terrible as u guys make it sound

Yes, preferably, I’d move on now before it becomes albatross, but that’s just me.

I think ROR fits another team better than ours.

If we could land a TJ Brodie for him I’d do it

Yea I mean I was mainly pointing out that our highest PPG players will be turning pro next season. Again not expecting them to make the team right away. I think there is an outside chance of one or none to get time with the big club. Whether that is a 9 game tryout or time later in the season.

Yeah the goal scoring prowess is what is so attractive about Zadina to me as well. Think we need a good sniper.

I think Jack's 200ft game has grown leaps and bounds since last year, so don't want to answer the question. However, you're right, most teams do have well round players wearing the C. I think Jack will get there, he's broken up a lot of odd man rushes this year with his backcheck. IMO if he can stop losing guys in the D-zone so often, he'll be just fine.

Some do, yes.

Has O’Reilly’s linemates been bad? Hasn’t he played with a combo of Kane, Okposo, Reinhart and Pominville?

Those aren’t grade A players, but it isn’t exactly Zach Dalpe or Matt D’Agostini

- sbroads24

Wilson, Pouliot in there too.

Not saying he plays with scrubs. I just think playing with, for example, Eberle and Ladd, taking more offensive zone draws, counts. If we're going off of 5v5 production as a gauge, I think he's got a steeper hill to climb than any of the rest you mentioned outside of Trochek.

Malkin doesn't belong on the list of 2C's to me.
