Dumpster Fire - a complete disaster

I said it and I will continue to say it. 5 game losing streak and you get blown out by the clear worst team in the NHL...good thing Stanley "likes our team and expects a similar looking roster next year."

Enzo, Vegas police just reported seeing Q last seen driving the club to the rink

If the Blackhawks trade Kane I’ll honestly cry. I just love watching him play hockey. He’s not the problem, and whatever comes back won’t be a solution if they are still loaded with underperforming contracts.

Honestly, this league just needs to take the stick out of their a$$ and make it possible to deal with a couple of bad contracts. No matter how much people trash Bowman, future performance isn’t that predictable and it sucks for players and fans that if a couple of players start underperforming contracts that the team is screwed.

It’s so depressing that Jonathan Toews is being vilified because he isn’t providing enough value for his contract. I don’t blame the fans for feeling that way and I don’t blame him for losing a step. We shouldn’t be forced to turn on the likes of toews and seabrook because they aren’t playing up to their contracts after all of the joy they brought us.

Can’t the league figure out a way to provide salary cap relief if a player isn’t providing Fair vale? I know there isn’t an easy solution but this is an issue that deserves attention. Toews, Kane, Keith, Seabrook and Hossa might all be going in the rafters, and the fact that their fans are turning on them towards the end of their career because of the salary cap needs to be addressed.

This was sort of a pointless post, but I’m just sad that the Blackhawks stink now and that my favorite hockey players are being trashed constantly.

Hopefully they come back next year with an extra step, their young guys improve, Saad and Toews score some goals, and they go on a run. It’s not out of the question.

You know, there are players who rebound after a couple of off years. Claude Giroux, drafted the same year as #19, fell off the face of the earth for 2 seasons and look at what he's doing now. How about Eric Staal? Brian Trottier bounced back years after his Islander glory days to contribute to 2 Cups with the Penguins. Some 'experts' considered Sidney Crosby finished because of his lengthy concussion problems. He's only been the best player in the game for the past 3 years. Comebacks do happen.

Olczyk referenced Giroux on Kaplan’s show tonite - talking about Toews’ decline and maybe he should be moved to wing - like Giroux did in Philadelphia.

Olczyk said maybe Toews should become a 140 foot player instead of the 200 footer he’s been for 10 years.

Kane should be angry and probably is. Bowman showed how much he favors Toews over Kane by slapping Kane in the face when he foolishly traded the one guy Kane did not want traded.

So when does the hawks start making deals AA Franson Wiggles bouma rutta kempney maybe Hartman as part of a package. Here is a situation that may occur or not lets say for example Toronto calls bowman about Kieth in my mind he should really listen what return would the hawks be looking for? 1st kasper kapanen matt martin to offset the money timothy lilijegren this situation probably doesn't happen because bowman is probably taking a nap or looking for another 5'7 smurf or 6'3 soft as jello d man instead

Just me but I don't see Toews as a left winger. Can't see how Eddie O sees it either. Giroux's rebirth is connected to the Flyer's moving Sean Couturier into the pivot on that line and he's pushing 30 goals already. He used to be a checking center who couldn't score to save his life, spent his time best irritating Crosby.

Unless he's leaning toward retirement because he's accomplished everything there is in hockey, I have faith in Toews. But there definitely is something not right. He looks 'under nourished' to me. And frustrated as hell.

How can Kane not resent this kind of treatment by Bowman?

It starts and end in the legs for both 7+19, IMO. I'd argue the muscular strength and endurance are not there in the legs. That would explain the "half step loss" from 7+19. When you aren't in good enough shape, you can't go 100% full throttle and you lose puck battles/races and look to be "coasting" during shifts trying to conserve.

The irony is Bowmans fired Savard and brought in Q, why? Scotty knew Savard was in over his head, and the results speak for themselves, like it or not
- BetweenTheDots

Don’t try to re-write history. During the rookie seasons for both Kane and Toews the Hawks almost made the play-offs, with Savard coaching. Yes many forget that Savard transitioned Kane and Toews into the NHL. Savard got removed because he wouldn’t kiss the a$$ of Scotty Bowman. When the change was made Kane actually cried. All the coverage thought is was a stupid move. Also don’t re-write Q’s history where he was only available because Colorado was already sick of him after 1 year.

Ok - good sources.

I can’t tell if he’s not playing like his old self, or rather that opponents are blanketing him, not letting him dangle the way he does.

No Savard was fired because he didn't know what he was doing, and you don't realize that?

Still waiting for that list?

Btw almost don't count.

Or does almost count for Savard but not Q?

Savard did so well look at all the head coaching jobs he got?

So who are these great coaches you speak of? Please throw a list of them out there so we could be privy to this vast knowledge you possess?

Is Savard one of them? How about Cooper?

No possible way they should of lost to the Kings?

Did you watch the Boston series? There is no way the Hawks should of won that series, yet they did.

All I can say is your post about coaching is comical. So when they lose its Q's fault but when they win.... (frank)ing joke!

- BetweenTheDots

Never let common-sense arguments get in the way of your rants. Really name a List? Are you kidding? There are loads of quality coaches who could have replicated or bettered Q. Here’s one Babcock who is always named as Team Canada’s Coach. I don’t know Sullivan with the Pens seems to have done rather well, completely turning around a team that looked old and uninterested.

Yes the Hawks should have beat LA in that Western Final as they were far more talented. Also the Hawks weren’t an underdog against the Bruins, so I have no idea what you are talking about.

If blaming the players and never the coach was an actual NHL management strategy no coach would ever get fired and we know that EVERY other team in the NHL has changed coaches at least once since Q was hired.

Hawks need a change.

Bouma-Kampf-Jurco

Keith-Dahlstrom
Kempny-Seabrook
Murphy-Oesterle

So Alex rewarded for being our only scorer last night by staying on 3rd line and being replaced on 1st line by Wingels. And, we'll continue with the 2nd line config that hasn't done anything.

Are you SURE Q isn't trying to tank this?

Bouma playing and Duclair sitting? I guess Duclair isn't in the future plans but Bouma is.

Phaneuf (25% discount) and Nate Thompson for Gaborik and Nick Shore.

The salary dump continues in Ottawa.

I like the message this sends Sikura:

Sign with the Hawks, play well and you be sat for 4th line lugs.

Way to go out on a limb with Babcock and Sullivan.

I don't know what the right answer is

Common sense like blaming Q for all the losses but giving him no credit for the wins?

These lines tell me that Q has embraced the #TankForTzchuk. Wow LOL Duclair from 1RW lock to healthy scratch overnight.

Kings must have needed a defenceman real bad. Current guys couldn't hold the fearsome Carolina attack to less than 7 goals tonight.

Do you need legs to corrall the puck on your stick blade? If so, you've got the diagnosis with #19 nailed.

You need those same legs to avoid the center of the ice in front of the goalie. They work well for avoiding contract to, whoa whoa I meant contact he's not going to avoid that contract.
