Kane for Seth Jones, Dubois, and a 1st
- EnzoD

not happening, but since we're dreaming, throw in Gabriel Carlsson and I'd do it.

Dubois and Carlsson are just prospects but they're supposed to maybe be pretty good one day so eh. Jones is a stud though.

How many times did the Bears win a couple meaningless regular season games that killed their draft position. I hate to say it, but they need the best pick they can get.
- kwolf68

The year Kane was drafted they went on a 4 game winning streak late in the season. Good thing that they won the draft lottery.

Times change, feelings change.

I feel bad for Kane now in a sense that every other member of the core has faded away and hasn't lived of to their price tag....except him. And i feel bad that they moved his line mate(which helped form THE BEST LINE IN THE NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE) for Toews line mate(who ended up sucking so bad that he didn't even wind up playing with Toews anyways).

Kane should see this team for the dumpster fire(your words) that they are, like ANYONE else can plainly see at this point.

And with that conclusion, how is it a knock on Kane's character whatsoever to say he probably wants to move on if possible? Its not like its some horrible breakup or anything. Times have changed, that is all. A few questionable decisions by the front office here, a regression by an overpaid player there....add it all up and its not really that outlandish to consider these things.

- SimpleJack

When did I call the Hawks a dumpster fire? I'm not saying they're not, I just don't recall calling them that.

I think Kane is smart enough to look beyond this (terrible) season. The Hawks fully support Kane through some terrible times in his life, so you really think Kane will turn his back on the team so quickly? I don't.

Dumpster Fire - a complete disaster

I said it and I will continue to say it. 5 game losing streak and you get blown out by the clear worst team in the NHL...good thing Stanley "likes our team and expects a similar looking roster next year."

I don't think anyone is disagreeing with the fact that the Hawks are really bad right now. I just don't think Kane wants to abandon ship right now, nothing Kane has shown us would indicate otherwise. I could be wrong, but I wouldn't jump to conclusions at this point.

Frickin Jay Cutler. Always had just enough good games to have us draft in the teens. I always thought it was self preservation, so the Bears couldn't draft a franchise QB

Come on Darth, you're talking to the biggest Kane guy on this board! He was having a very solid year but post all-star break he looks to have thrown in the towel. He has not been a dominant player lately. I hope they never trade him, and I think he wants to be a Hawk for life, but 7+19 are immovable. Something needs to change or its gunna be a longgggg time outside the playoffs. 2 and 7 will only get worse. Toews idk what to say, and Saad is just pathetic with his play this year. It's a poop show and Bowman needs to be held responsible IMO.

Positive thoughts tonight crew - best case scenario, the Hawks will play amazing... the youngsters look like studs & the core looks revitalized after that embarrassing loss last night yet they still lose (just barely). Therefore, the team gets the benefit of feeling "better" about themselves and the Hawks get closer to Dahlin.

See ya on the board tonight.

Just because Seabrook and Toews and unmoveable contracts that doesn't mean you have to move Kane. If moving Kane nets you another younger generational talent then go for it. But I don't see any other GM trading away the likes of Matthews or Laine for Kane. If Kane is moved it will likely be for lesser value.

Besides all that, the conversation wasn't about whether or not Kane should be moved. It was about Kane wanting to be traded.

You misunderstood my post...I'm the (frank)ing conductor on the Tank Train! Dahlin, Tzchuk, Svechnikov or Bouchard could change this franchise's direction in a big way.

He may or may not want to do that but I don’t see him walking in and saying I want to be traded, or the front office obliging.

You have two bad contracts the answer isn’t moving the one good contract.

that list is growing smaller and smaller. At some point, we're going to beat someone "better" than us

The next win( against any oppponent) would be a team better than us.

If Saad doesn't remember how to play hockey soon, the Hawks have 3 bad contracts.

We have some old horse bettors in D Savard, Eddie O and probably others. I wish they could talk the new stud into
playing here. Have heard Dylan has a friendship with DeBrincat. Bowman really wants this kid to play here. Seems to be an opportunity in a great city on a team rebuilding.

- jhawk59

There's definitely opportunity for him in Chicago, but I'm worried about the Q connection playing a big part. A few years back, John showed me a pic on his phone of him and Q with The Cup. Those two go back. It may even be the reason the Hawks drafted the kid.

If the Blackhawks trade Kane I’ll honestly cry. I just love watching him play hockey. He’s not the problem, and whatever comes back won’t be a solution if they are still loaded with underperforming contracts.

Honestly, this league just needs to take the stick out of their a$$ and make it possible to deal with a couple of bad contracts. No matter how much people trash Bowman, future performance isn’t that predictable and it sucks for players and fans that if a couple of players start underperforming contracts that the team is screwed.

It’s so depressing that Jonathan Toews is being vilified because he isn’t providing enough value for his contract. I don’t blame the fans for feeling that way and I don’t blame him for losing a step. We shouldn’t be forced to turn on the likes of toews and seabrook because they aren’t playing up to their contracts after all of the joy they brought us.

Can’t the league figure out a way to provide salary cap relief if a player isn’t providing Fair vale? I know there isn’t an easy solution but this is an issue that deserves attention. Toews, Kane, Keith, Seabrook and Hossa might all be going in the rafters, and the fact that their fans are turning on them towards the end of their career because of the salary cap needs to be addressed.

This was sort of a pointless post, but I’m just sad that the Blackhawks stink now and that my favorite hockey players are being trashed constantly.

Hopefully they come back next year with an extra step, their young guys improve, Saad and Toews score some goals, and they go on a run. It’s not out of the question.

Kane should be angry and probably is. Bowman showed how much he favors Toews over Kane by slapping Kane in the face when he foolishly traded the one guy Kane did not want traded.
