Would do that in a heartbeat.

Lucic is slower than Seabrook. I think he has been scratched a bunch of times this year because he is not having a good year, and cannot keep up with Edmonton's younger players.

I'm OK with his speed. What I like is that he's a hard-nosed Forward.

Wouldn't it be nice to get that Seabrook money off the books?

I can't vent anymore. Got nothing left. Just let them sink at this point. We can all agree that wholesale changes are needed with this team. Roster, Coaches, schemes. Hard to see a battle hardened 3 Cup team end up like this. Just too much loss/turnover of the roster and the left over core is out of gas.

Sign Sikura. Bring guys up from Rockford. Fantastic opportunity to get them playing time.

?????. What are you talking about? OK with Lucic’s speed? He has no speed. He also doesn’t score. He has 9 goals. He signed a 7 year 42M contract before the 2016-17 season which I thought was insane at the time. What about these facts is at all appealing?

Hank, I’ve been wanting him for years, we all make this fantasy trade which is cool, but the one big obstacle is Stan Bowman, I sound like a broken record but if we happen to get a top three or four pic I’m just afraid he’s going to blow it big time ,I’m all for Dean Lombardi, I don’t care if he is Pully’s son-in-law, he is a good hockey mind, The other alternative is to have Rocky and John McDonough basically strong-arm him and tell him this is the way it’s going to go, start adding some size ang toughness along with the speed and cut out the bullpoop overseas and this Chicago born kid crap.

responsibility, accountability...we shall see how that translates this summer...

How about Toews being responsible, being accountable. He showed up for this season as a 98lb weakling. He chooses his off-ice regime which is obviously ludicrous. He looks skinnier than gaunt models.

Maybe we should just convert Seabrook into a hard-nosed forward.

I agree with you.

What would happen is we could then can stop complaining about a slow, overpaid, under-performing defenseman and then we could complain about a slow, overpaid, under-performing forward.

Pass on Lucic.

Toews: There's no words left. It's about what you go out there and do. Obviously I'm out there for a couple goals against again tonight, so got to be better defensively and got to find ways to create offensively, especially when it's been tough to do that lately.

ETA: Wingels is one of the more forthright players (along with Murray)

“We were on our way,” Tommy Wingels said. “But it’s the same thing that’s plagued us over the past month or two. We can’t string 60 minutes together. We have tidbits here and there where we’re hard, we’re aggressive, we’re physical, we win battles — then it lets up, and the other team gets back in the game. Certainly frustrating. It’s frustrating for us, it’s frustrating for you guys following it and it’s frustrating for everyone watching.”

ETA2: Honestly sounds like the best investment might be a sports psychologist

“We give up one early on on the penalty kill, so be it, we’ve got to respond, we’ve got to stay up on the bench,” Toews said. “We can’t just fold up and say, ‘Oh, I guess that’s it.’ I don’t know. It’s frustrating, because throughout our lineup, we don’t have that response when we need it. We need to find ways to bounce back and stay in those games and not get frustrated, not let that noise, or the crowd, or a bad call, or a goal against us just sink our ship, and shut ‘er down for the last 20 minutes.”

- pdx2ord

Be Quiet Wingels. You were the one that took an incredibly stupid, unnecessary penalty near the other team’s net with seconds remaining in the 2nd period which lead to the tying goal killing any momentum the fragile Hawks had. You don’t get to talk about the team needing to play 60 minutes. You need to not take stupid, unnecessary penalties.

Toews needs to qualify his statement by not including those being paid at league minimum. Did he not think that this could happen when he and his buddies were signing those fat contracts? So just suck it up buddy and do not include the Wingels and ADC's of this team.

Solid defensive effort by 19 on Reilly Smith's goal. 4-2 after entering the 3rd up 2-1. The nosedive continues and I don't think it stops....Glass and Forsberg aren't good.

Very solid effort by 19 White. Yep.

I suppose it would be nice to get that money off the books, though I still like Seabrook in a reduced role. I do not think that many teams will be so obliging to take that contract from us. Even to get Lucic, it might take more than just Seabrook. Not sure that Edmonton would do that deal straight up. They have the same problem we do (maybe more so); a lack of toughness. At least, we have Bouma, Wingels, Hayden, and Hartman who qualify as tough (maybe not as tough as Lucic).

Saad couldn't drop a puck in the ocean from a rowboat in the middle of the Atlantic. Its pitiful.

I saw that. I gave the Sim Lottery a spin and the Hawks stayed in the 7 spot but, to my horror, the Oilers jumped to the 1st overall!

The Love for Q would make Kim Jung Un proud. Talk about loyalty.

I wonder how many Q jerseys are sold each year? How many goals and assists does he have?

Give the guy an Olympic roster and he makes cup champs, give him anything short of best roster in hockey he is a whiny hack.

Regardless of my dislike of him or others love of him, the reality is that it is far more efficient to change coaches than a 25 man roster.

If his core/leaders were leading and bringing players along with a style etc...I may agree he is not the problem, but whether it be depletion or disinterest etc...your core is a far bigger problem then the supporting cast. Great players/leaders make others better, The Hawks used to do it. Now watching, you can see Toews, Keith and Seabrook hoping ADB and others start carryng the load. Duncan Keith is playing like Greg Fox....no offence Fox...

- TrueGrit

I have pointed out that Q, like Scotty Bowman, has had a special coaching skill namely knowing WHERE to coach. Both have always had great teams to coach and have won a lot. What a surprise. When Q actually has to coach he can’t.

Wish list last 25 games
1- Crawford- shut him down
2- Toews - LTIR & diagnose what’s going on with his health
3- Sign Sakura
4- Trade Anisimov-Wingels & Bouma for picks
5- Trade Firsberg - Rutta & Seabs to Edmonton 25% retained for Maroon or any combo that moves Seabs
6- Reward 6 Guys from Rockford with 25 Games in the NHL
7- Glass to the AHL - it was a great story but it’s over
8- Q receives a Leave of Abscence or is fired - He’s Toxic around the kids
9- Replace Konroid in the booth with Anyone - he’s also Toxic
10 Start the search for a new CEO of Hockey Operations - Dale Talloon - Mark Messier- Dean Lombardi (let them decide Bowman’s fate)

- Colbyboy

Time for change no doubt. Interesting comment on Konroyd. It is quite amazing how little he seems to truly know about hockey as he actually played in the NHL. His analysis has absolutely no depth. His analysis is either totally obvious or simply wrong. He brings nothing to the coverage. Combine that with the fact that he doesn’t even try to have any charisma and it makes for a bad situation. How/Why did he get his position?

Missed the game, but I’ll comment anyways:

Can’t score if you don’t get it up.

Schmaltz - 1 SAT (missed), on ice for 8 CF
Anisimov - 1 SAT (missed), on ice for 8 CF

Kane had better numbers, but if that was the second line - and you’re relying on them to be part of your scoring group....

- StLBravesFan

Need to put Debrincat on LW where he's most comfortable....with Kane and Schmaltz and be done with the experiments !!
At least we'll have one line that might score with some consistency.
AA ??? Move him ASAP please for a 2 if possible.
